Anyone in the Tampa/Sarasota area that has replaced the rear tire with an non stock tire. Wifes' 2014 RT-L has a flat spot and very worn with 7800 miles.

:welcome: Threads about tires abound In here...
Use the "Search" button, and you'll find dozens of them...
Type in something like "Rear tire replacements", and you'll have a Month's worth of reading pop up.
Happy Hunting! :D

Replaced the stock rear tire on my 14 RTL with a Vee Rubber Arachnid tire. Had only 4600 miles on the stock tire, with the tread down to 3mm.
So far, after 3000 miles there is no noticeable tread wear. Many on this site recommend General tires because they are harder and less likely to wear to early.
Hope the helps you. I live in South Hillsborough county.

What, are the roads in Tampa/Sarasota "different" somehow than anywhere else in the country?
Maybe you should post this in the Florida Board?

In case you don't follow along, I see this is post #1, everybody with an RT has done a tire change, and this
is the probably the most widely talked about subject here. Good luck deciding, there are myriad choices.

Thanks for the info, we just moved to Sun City Center for the winter. Where did you get the tire changed? Dealer or another facility?

At Tampa Powersports. They charge $50-100, depending on the amount of time it takes. Since you live in Sun City, you may want to call Action Jet Sports in Bradenton.
If you are interested in riding with a group of Spyders I ride with a group from Hillsborough County. Next ride is this Saturday. If interested IM me and I will give you the info.

Yes, many choices in tires, we run a Michelin Primacy in the 215/60/15 size for over 15,000 miles with no problems. Enjoy the search!

I had a Kumho put on my :spyder2: In September and I'm liking It a whole lot. I have a 2013 RT-S, I think It handles and feels better than the stock tire..

I hope your enjoying sunny Florida. Believe it or not I met a white RT on main street Deby Line today.
IF i did'nt have the crud I would have ridden mine. Tires for these things are a nightmare.

Oh No, Oh No, not another tire thread. I would rather hear 1000 opinions on Oil or would I?? That's what your dealer is for---to give us all advice

about such things.

Lets talk about something I know a lot about, like Brain Surgery, Rocket Science, Agronomy, building an Ant Farm, surviving on 5000 Calories a day

or the Zen Art of Bra repair. :joke:

I almost forgot, Welcome to the Forum!

I sent you an email response. With the amount of time I already spend reading and responding to email and text messages, I can only hope that no one I know ever figures out how to "IM"
