Actually reading the owners manual is time well spent and will answer an awful lot of questions.

Important word to remember, "FARKLES", they seem to drain the money out of your wallet.

Welcome to the ZOO.

:agree:

"Farkleitis" has only two known cures:
Bankruptcy
or
Death at the hands of an enraged Spouse...
:yikes:
I've come close to both, and it ain't pretty! nojoke

:agree: The owner's manual is a wealth of information, don't overlook the detail in there. Care and cleaning -- Mike is right. Treat it like a car -- it's all painted and chrome surfaces, wash and wax. And have respect for the electricals -- don't go pressure washing the dashboard or thru the vents or controls, etc. Common sense applies. I don't use high pressure water anywhere -- just gently shower it with water when I'm washing it. Remember it's built to be ridden in the rain so a hose-nozzle shower certainly won't hurt anything. And shower the windshield to get the dust off before touching it, then use care. I put 40K on my 2011 RT and the windshield didn't have a scratch -- perfectly clear. Very durable if cared for correctly.

And Welcome Aboard!. I love my 2014 RT SM6 and you will yours.

Congratulations & welcome! I second what others have said about reading the owner's manual. Look at the lower nose of your Spyder and seriously consider as your first farkle a bump skid. Be safe & have fun!

You found us here (we really should be listed in the manual too) congrats & most particulars come down to your preferences, as with any bike "make it your own" & if its not comfortable you wont enjoy it, so. Enjoy &

F.A.R.K.L.E. -- Fancy Accessory Really Kool Likely Expensive

The word is generally accepted to mean a combination of "function" and "sparkle", hence, farkle.
