I don't know if a 5% larger diameter tire will upset Nanny or not; you might need to go taller up front also...

I am running a 215/60/15 on my 2012 that is 5.4% larger with NO problems. It should reduce your speedo error too.

you will need a 215x60R15 up front to keep rolling circumference equal for front & rear but i think it may be too squishy for the front
or a 225x55R15 which should work with the nanny but can it fit the front is another question.

Mr. Denman is mis-leading about the diameter. Yes it's going to be VERY slightly larger but only because the aspect ratio is changing. The issue you are facing is going to be the tire width in the area of the SWINGARM where the front of that tire is closest to the front of the swingarm. This size is 30mm wider which is over an inch and this might not fit...!!!!!..... Also wider tires will generally HYDRO-PLANE sooner under the same conditions than a narrower tire......Mike :thumbup:

Actually; a 255/45-15 would be less than 1% taller... (+.7%)

If you Google a tire size you will get info on all of the tires that are out there. Just go to Google and type in 255/50r15 for example

I did find this ...a Toyo 225/45-15 R-1-R that has some excellent performance numbers .......however it's " UTQG " is only 200..............if you go to the Toyo Tire site you can see pics...............Mike :thumbup:

again, who makes it, i always tell people that come in for tire sizes they make up, i require $100k deposit & 1 year to have it made.

Michelin - there's a Michelin-MXW made in the 255/45R15 size, but it might not get to the States much; there doesn't seem to be a heap of demand for it from anything but for the rear of 'Renault Alpine V6's & the V6 Turbo'.... ;)

The 255 tire is 1.18" wider and the sidewall of the 225 is only 1/4" from the belt now, this may be a limiting factor depending on the sidewall width.
