I went to the Can Am web site and plugged in the VIN on a Can Am I'm looking at. This was the results:

2014 CAN-AM ®
RD SPYDER RT LTD 1330 ACE SE6 WP 14

What does that last line mean? I understand the Spyder RT Limited 1330 engine. Not sure what the other stuff means.

Someone else will have to come up with the WP 14 (which has something to so with the month of manufacture I suspect) :dontknow:

The ACE is part of the Rotax engine model, 1330 ACE; the SE6 is the semi-automatic six speed transmission and the WP 14 is the White Pearl color of the 2014 model year.

Mine is E6FB SPYDER F3 S 1330 ACE SE6 M 15 info is taken from my EC Certificate of conformity with the requirements of directive 2002/24/CE plus 2013/60/UE

I know the SE6 is relating to my transmission gear. But haven't a clue what the "M" or "15" stand for.

Given that info the "M" must stand for Magnesium and "15" model year. Its great learning new things of this site every day.:chat:

I'm not sure about "RD", and "E6FB"
It might have to do with defining the area of the World in which it was sold...
You can email BRP, and they will answer those questions for you!

That's like when I'd ask questions and my parents would tell me to "look it up"!! I didn't like it then, either.

And what does the E6FB mean?:dontknow:

That is the model number. Specifically E6FB is described as "Roadster Spyder F3-S (SE6), Pure Magnesium. Engine, Rotax 1330 ACE. Europe"

Also: ACE stands for Advanced Combustion Efficiency.

I'm thinking RD means Roadster. Can Am uses the same numbering scheme for their other products. I wouldn't be surprised if their snowmobile starts with SM and the Sea Do with WC (and not water closet either! :D)

That sounds reasonable, Mac. But then explain E6FB for the F3.

As billybovine stated, that is the model number. The 2013 Lava Brown RT-LTDs were model numbers B9DB, B9DG, B9DJ, B9DP or B9DR. I found those numbers in the service manual.
