I have a 2015 RT Limited.
I am noticing that after I go for a ride (30-40 minutes) and leave the Spyder in the garage, it gets really hot, especially around
the inside of the small compartment on top of the gas tank. The plastic area around the key hole is almost too hot to touch.

This lasts for hours.

The last modifications were the addition of the BaJaRon Sway Bar and Shock Adjuster. I don't see how that could make any difference to heat. I never really felt around the dash area by the key hole.

Is this normal?

Thanks,

Bob S.

Yes..When sitting still the heat will try to escape but has little air movement when in the garage.
The bar and shock adjuster will not cause this..Its normal

once parked and especially in a closed garage all the engine heat rises straight up. This is normal on all spyders. If you out and get air flow it will cool down quickly...

The 2013 recall scoops reduce this a lot on our 2012.

Under the conditions that you are creating; it's about as normal as it gets... nojoke

I learned this the hard way when I put a bag of chocolate covered almonds in my glove box. :banghead:

Wow! I bet that was a mess - but at least it was a tasty mess.

I threw the whole bag into the freezer and ended up with a very large, odd shaped, nut filled chocolate bar :dg2:

When you pull into the garage, lift the seat up, it will allow for better ventilation under the bike and allow it to cool quicker.:thumbup:

Have you ever popped open the hood of your car after a day of driving around? :yikes:

I have a fan that sits in front of my Spyder that I turn on when I pull into the garage.
