Hey, Tommy, glad you are having a good time. Do you plan to ride across the Cherahola? Hope so. I registered but was unable to attend - right knee, xray, cortisone, MRI, and talk to the surgeon next Thursday.

Keep those pictures coming.

Good to hear from you Bill. I have done the Cherahola many times but can't do it this trip. I hope to make it soon. What a wonderful road.

Hope me you get up and riding soon,
Tommy

This is it for me. I looked out into the little parking lot by my room last night and there were nine spiders crammed in there. I tried to get a pic but it was too dark.

How big an event is this one?

How big an event is this one?
I heard there were over 700 registered but that seems high to me. They were everywhere but I never saw more than thirty or so in a single place. I figured we would take over the parking lot at Deals Gap but I never saw more than ten or so there. It seemed like 90% of what I saw were RT's.

I had a wonderful time, and got to meet so great people (Deerslayer for one, the others I cannot name). As for pictures, I figure we all know what a spyder looks like around here, so I mainly took pictures of the scenery. The pictures do not do any of this area any justice. I have been going to this area for the past 7 years, and plan on going every year as long as I have health and strength. I have been very fortunate this year. I have been to the Maggie Vally/Gatlinburg area 3 times on vacation this year, and to the Boone area about 4 times (daughter goes to App. State, so that was sort of cheating). I must say, although I do not travel a lot, there is no other place I would rather be.http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=118575&stc=1http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=118576&stc=1http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=118577&stc=1http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=118578&stc=1http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=118579&stc=1

I did not. Though only 165 miles from my house it was the longest ride I had taken since my back surgery and I wasn't sure I could make it so I didn't sign up for anything. That said the F3 was absolutely a dream to ride and after a total of 450 miles over four days I felt great. It's a long way from the thousand mile days of my youth but I'm just happy to be out there.

It was my pleasure. Sorry we did not get to hang out more. I told my family your $5,000 per win story while we were watching the Falcons win yesterday.

Lol! No, brothers don't hike, or camp out (quote from the movie "the marine"). This was taken from the bridge on 129 just before heading up the hill to the dragon.

I believe this is the power station at the start of the Dragon. Yes the Store is not the start place. Check the $5.00 map.
