Bajaron, a site sponsor, sells synthetic Amsoil and all the filters and crush washers needed for any model Spyder. A great sponsor to deal with.

I use full synthetic in my 14 RT-S (same as 15)
I use HD because I still have a case left over from my UltraGlide :)

There are Spyder riders who are using:
Mobil 1 Racing 4T-10W-40: available @the big box automotive stores(O'Riley, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto). Watch for sale pricing.
I'm using Valvoline 4T-10W-40: available thru walmart.com. Occasionally on sale in a 6-pack case for $35.00+tax. Sometimes they have free shipping on one case. Last time I had to buy 2 cases to get free shipping.

Some consistency required , new product reviews are handy but tires & oil are all too often in question.

Ready to change oil and filters for this year so I began searching around for the oil. I found a six pack of Valvoline 10w-40 full synthetic motorcycle oil on Amazon for $37.80 and tax, shipped for free.

Also watched the attached youtube on a comparison of the cold weather flow of Amsoil, Mobile 1, Royal Purple and the Walmart brand. I'm never going to operate in this kind of cold and I doubt if anyone else in their right mind will either. I haven't seen a video of a comparison on the heat side of the scale and that might be far more important for an oil test as far as I'm concerned. But, my son was trying to persuade me to go with Royal Purple and I can't see it for the price.

You have to wonder why the guys that made the video used walmart conventional when the other oils are synthetic.

I use Amsoil 10w40 full synthetic on my 2008 GS SM5. This is the best oil I have ever used.:firstplace:
I get my oil filter and rings from the dealer.
I buy the oil through my NAPA auto dealer by the case at about $200.00 cdn including taxes.

Is that a Yogi Berra quote, or just something he might have said.

I've always liked it.

Thanks, I'll start looking for the sale price. NAPA had a great price on the Mobil Synthetic I use for my Forester XT Turbo this summer - in the one quart size which is easier for me to pour.

I know oil and tire threads are repetitive, but I'm always eager to read them, plus their informative responses.

Wal Mart carries it on line as I remember and so does Auto Zone. I like Royal Purple but in a change cycle of every 4000 miles as recommended for The VTwin it is just too expensive.
