New Spyder RT S in the house. Finally got a 2015 shipped to California from Illinois. Happy to have gotten it for wife....just a little early for her birthday!

Welcome. Have you tried to register your Spyder yet? We have been having a discussion in another thread about CA laws and not being able to license a Spyder from outside of CA unless it has 7,500 miles on it. I hope you checked this out first. Good luck.

on your new ryde and choice of color..:2thumbs: as Ann stated california is tough place to register out of state purchases. Do wish your wife a Happy Birthday I know she will be thrilled with the roadster..:yes::yes::ohyea:

Beautiful roadster, make sure that you read the thread "California Emmissions". Which has prompted me not to look out of state!

The triples in 2014 and 2015 are 50 state legal and have sticker under seat that says meets California emissions. I was concerned about buying new from out of state. If a bike from out of state has less than 7500 it is considered new from emissions perspective. Over 7500 and considered used. You are wise to be cautious. I bought mine from imotorsports in Elmhurst. They have been great. I am very happy with purchase....and yes....in California from another state...legally.

Thx. Yes I did check thoroughly with DMV prior to purchase. The 2015 meets California emissions standards. Thx for the heads up though!

Oh, and the 7500 rule doesnt affect registration of new. I am providing a title and bill of sale to DMV and should not be a problem. A friend warned me about the 7500 rule. He was incorrect. If it has more than 7500 it is considered used. I bought a Valkyrie off Ebay from out of state years ago and it was used...paid more in taxes and fees but wasnt an issue. Thx again SpyderAnn

Do you have any pictures? I don't see a picture here. I am trying to decide if I want to trade off and up to a new Spyder from the 2012-VIPER RED! Now that was a good color! :D

No pictures just yet. New to the board. I will say it is a stunning pearl candy red. Viper red is more fire engine right? I would trade up if nothing more than you get the triple 1330
