Progressive Power steering???

I'm wondering what progressive power steering means; I've noticed the phrase on a couple threads. How does it work or affect the PS at speed and slow turns.

Basically, it gives the most steering assist at slow speeds and the least steering assist at high speeds.

Yep,
It is designed so that it is harder to over react steering wise at the higher speeds and go out of control.
