If Honda builds it, it will be STONE RELIABLE! I hope they do - competition in the marketplace is critical to force OEM's to make better products. Had this not happened in the two wheel segment, motorcycles would not be what they are today. I think it is fantastic, and if it is litre bike fast, it will fly off the showroom floors. Remember, in 1975 the gold wing was a bit of an odd duck. Now look - Goldwings are the Gold standard of touring machines. RT's might have sold more this past year than GW, but Honda has a 40 year headstart!

This is still just a concept bike... :dontknow:
Getting from the design studios to the dealerships; can often bring unsettling changes, to a vision and a dream.

I see the concept Honda Reverse Trike continues to get our attention.

It is to late in the game for me to jump ship. They have finally got the :spyder2: where I like it.

My original thoughts remain the same:

It is pretty much inevitable that another major manufacturer would come out with a reverse trike. It has just taken awhile for Can Am to get more established and show there is a market for such a critter. The big boys have let Can Am do most of the work testing the market and putting out four versions of the :ani29:.

I note that a four cylinder engine with a secondary electric motor is mentioned. Sounds a bit hybrid to me. Since its prototype, no information about engine size or running statistics.

Cost is another issue. Do they price it below Can Am in order to get a foot in the market--or--do they charge what the market will bear?

Honda is a well respected company. Am guessing that if they build it, the customers will come.

At this point in time, I am thinking I am sticking with Can Am. An 1800 RT/Goldwing tourer may be big bait for some though--if Honda builds something like that.

I like the Honda styling I like the RS Styling, they are different machines if the Honda leans and even more so if it some out in the configuration I saw touted which was 4cyl boxer with electric motors!!

What are they going to do with them? Where are they mounted in the current picture? If they power the front wheels permanently what kind of disasterous front end handling can we expect?

I doubt that electric motors can be more than a Market test, if they were a Front wheel drive traction control system Im confused and if its a launch assist/ control function I hope you can spin all three wheels at your own leisure as that seems the only fun to it.

I hope other OEMs get in on the Yikes there already a 6 Billion dollar (sic) industry for trikes in Nth America if I launched a kit trike .5 to 1% would be a handsome return year one.

I dont think if Honda release their trike it would threaten Can Am just open new markets. Although their current spec may be furfy their finish looks production and since being challenged in court by Piaggio I have heard Yamaha are releasing a different trike! May the market grow and prosper.

Let the Spice flow!!

Wonder if it will be as popular as the Elio :roflblack:

I agree if Honda makes it, it will be rock solid. Before my Spyder I had an VTX1300 and put 104,000 miles on it. Never a problem. If Honda considers building their Spyder-wanna be they should reconsider the looks... It is butt ugly. :roflblack:

Thought to myself its been a while I searched reverse trikes and guess what

I found the REAL Elio!!

Here is a three wheeler that can actually do everything the Elio said it could do.

It doesnt have a enclosed capsule air con, 20,000 airbags, Ive forgotted what else they promised.

But I think you are getting a lot for your money if this is the money you want to spend, I know our fabrication costs more than this.

What is can do the Elio said it would, small form factor, single cylinder, Yike format, 60mph+, 100mpg+

I present for your consideration the Exomtive - Eco-Exo!!

I'll let you go there and read the highlights yourself but if you ever seriously thought you would buy an elio, buy this and put a canopy on it.

There was a few pictures of some bikes other than Hondas prototype and here some I had also not seen before beside my Much Vaunted!! ( ) Eco-Exo

This looks like somebody built it..... but should nt have, sitting somewhar to the rear of the cylinder head is good, not on a V4 and not behind and lower than the gear box.

Next they cry!!!

They coulda shoulda woulda frunked this if they had half a clue and they ripped the name off a very nicely styled 40's esq Bespoke Harley Conversion which is not cool in my book.

Quickly has it appeared and dear Lord quickly may it be dispatched. You need a packed lunch to a walkaround before a ride. Defeats the purpose of having a motorcycle because you have been fpor a morning walk instead.

(Cant post pic they are all too large and I cant be stuffed sorry chek the site but you'll be sorry you did....)

Das Fatherland has been busy not ones to be left out but since the Taurus (which I think was designed in france anyway) where have designers gone??

http://www.ezs-sidecar.com/ (Not available in English yet) Unfortunately called the Retriever, bringing up images of overly bouncey awkward dogs.

Now with the Honda why did they go and tinker with a good thing sure the Combine Harvester Version at least had a dual purpose??

http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=117403&stc=1

And quite frankly before i wanted my child to grow up to use such vehicles yes Id want them to practice and a circuit with a few sunday sessions available on the little Asian offering would go astray but why would they just buy a good old American SWAY??

http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=117404&stc=1

All just from a couple of chicken pecks from the old digits and there we go a Annual wrap up of the market!! lol (Get yourself and Eco-Exo if you thought you were going to get an Elio or you just werent serious enough)

Cheers
