I went to get my tag today and on the way home"Limp home mode". I drove it home with no issues, but now I see the manual states "do not operate ". 2015 RTS Sm6 less than 650 miles, bummer. Going to call dealer tomorrow. I wonder what it is?

did you have any other indicators, like check engine, vss, oil light etc. Did you have any codes to go by. If you pull the key and wait 45 min or so and restart is it all back to normal..?? If it clears the codes are stored and a good idea to run by the dealer and have it hooked up to buds for a read out...

Chances are it's something minor. Let's hope so....

Go turn the key on and push the Mode, Set and Turn Signal Cancel buttons at the same time. Your screen will either go blank or it will have a code (a letter followed by 4 numbers) Write down the code and let us know what it said. If you screen is blank you have no active codes, and this is a good thing, and you should be good to go. If you start it back up and you go into limp mode again check the codes before you shut it off then call your dealer.

No oil lights or other lights or codes it sounds and operates nomally. I did let it sit for about 2 hrs and it's still in limp mode. I will try what SpyderAnn01 suggested too.

Thanks

I looked at the codes: P0340 ,P0000

I looked them up on Spyder Codes:

P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor
P0000 - not found

Definitely a problem for the dealer to fix.

We had one of the 14 RT that went on our Alaska trip throw this code. It was a pretty easy swap out at the dealer. The OP should be able to ride it to the dealer without issue. We were about 150 miles from the dealer when my friend had the problem.

Please let us know what the dealer found/did. The mechanical advice above is right on.

I love it when the people on this site get together to help other riders
That is what makes this site GREAT

It was a Camshaft sensor. Brad the tech at WS Honda/Can Am got me back on the road in a timely manor. My Spyder got Baptized on the way home:D It's raining on and off ,but I had the best protection I have ever had in the rain from my Spyder.
