 Ain't it fun? :D I'm currently averaging 198.989 miles between fill-ups.
And I'm hoping to improve that to 200!

I'm now getting comfortable with what I can get out of a tank of gas when I'm not whacking the loud handle. Yesterday I refilled 5.67 gal. on a trip of 225 miles that gave me 39.7 mpg. I would really like to refill about 6.25 gal at that rate since it would give me close to 250 miles but that would be with no interstate riding that I must use sometimes just to get from point a to point b.

I'm at 39 fill-ups and am averaging 39.6 with my RT... I would expect that, due to the extra weight. :D

Yeah, on the mileage. However, the increased mileage without an improved seat would be a mixed blessing. Now I like my trike, but the limited has been compared to Cadillac and that may be true after you upgrade the seat, sway bar and shocks. That puts you close to the entry level Cadillac and of course you are ignored at the gas station with your caddy.
Ok, thanks for listening.

Pretty sweet compared to the old days when we were all shopping for gas shortly over 100 miles....

I also like the extended range on the 1330 engine. I can also get 225 if I want to. When riding with akspyderlady, we generally have to break for gas at 150 just to be safe (have gone 185), so its usually during the week when I am going for those 200 + mile gas fills.

Its all good.

In the first 500 Miles I seem to be getting about 40 MPG on the F3- Which is a Lot better than the 998 RT which was right around 30. The More I ride it the More I love it!

I'll share my ignorance and throw this out to Lamonster or anyone else that wants to answer. I'm assuming that the fuel pump is in the tank and some fuel pumps rely on the fuel in the tank for cooling. Is there any issue with consistently running the tank vey low?

I have done better, on occasion, on the 998 twin. Problem there is those numbers are seldom reached but I'm happy with my 33 mpg 186 per tank. But you can gloat all you want cause those are great numbers...:2thumbs:

I will never approach that kind of MPG. I am to busy counting "One Mississippi, Two Mississippi..." when the light turns green.

Max speed limit here is 50mph. I doubt very seriously I'll get that kind of mileage here either. Especially if I keep going up to Waimea Canyon and back.

I would go crazy with a 50 mph maximum limit.

RE: Speed limit--It fits real nice in Hawaii. Who wants to go fast in such a nice place? :roflblack: The only exception is Honolulu--that is like the Chicago Freeway with palm trees. Four wide and zoom, zoom, zoom. Get 10 miles away from that and back in paradise at 50/55 or so.

With this kind of mileage all you 1330 owners can start asking your Harley and Goldwing trike friends, "And what kind of MPG do you get?" :roflblack::roflblack:

Posted speed limit is one thing, actual is another. ;) We have the Mana drag strip, Kauai Raceway Park here, so I can always 'blow the carbon out' whenever I want to.

Yeah, not too sure I'd want to navigate the freeways of Oahu on a motorcycle or a Spyder for that matter. Drivers there are more nuts that they are here.

I took a little trip around Colorado earlier this summer on my Harley Tri-Glide. 41 mpg avg which included Red Mountain, Coal Bank, Molas, Wolf Creek, Vail and Loveland (via the tunnel) Passes.
I haven't monitored our fuel mileage but my wife's Spyder and my Tri-Glide usually get the same amount of gas, +- quarter gallon, when we stop. Sometimes she gets a little more other times I get a little more.

I just got 43.9 MPG on my F3 but I was only averaging 25 MPH for about 80 miles in 75 degree weather.

It is VERY nice to not make everyone stop for fuel when their Harley tanks are only half empty on group rides. Thx BRP
