There are two discount opportunities in our area for the month of January.
1) The Gulf Breeze Zoo is giving discount admission for the entire month. This is a wonderful small zoo for those of you who have not been before. It is in financial trouble and this might be your last opportunity to visit this area attraction.
2) The new casino that has opened in Atmore, AL is offering 2 for 1 buffet prices during the month. I don't know a motorcyclist that doesn't love to ride to eat. It is a pleasant ride and maybe some of you long time residents know routes that I have not discovered yet?
I am still working full time so the weekends are when I could do this. There are three left in Jan. I plan to make both these trips, probably with my wife, and I would love to have the company of other local Spyder ryders. Let me know when any of you would like to join me(us) and I will try and coordinate as many of us as possible getting together.
Come on Now Let's Ryde :2thumbs:

Steven,

I cannot do any rydes this weekend d/t spouses birthday and she is leaving for Kansas City to work. I will be free the other two weekends this month. Just let me know when you want to do the rydes and I will be sure to go.

Rode from the Pensacola house about 10 miles round trip to lunch at the little Buffett at Blue Angel and 98. Sunkawakanwi was complaining of the cold by the time we got home!

Do you think we might be a go for 1 day this weekend. The half price buffet at Atmore - Wind Creek is for Sunday thru Thursdays only. Friday and Saturday will cost you full price - 14.00 but the have seafood on those nights. Went up there with the family on Saturday for the wifes BD dinner - had a good time and the food was decent. It will be a fun time when we can go. :2thumbs:

>>>>>looks partly cloudy with temps 64/50 so should be a afternoon/evening to ride. Follow the river up in daylight then return across to catch US-29 at the CITGO and follow it on down.

If I did not have to be back at DaVita at 0545 Monday might consider an over nighter up there. Now I could do a Monday night / Tuesday but know you working folks would have a problem. Do they have any shows? We don't play the games.

Just wanted to give you a final on the ryde on Sunday. Met Steven (Sabumin5) and Jan at the Starbucks at 9 Mile Rd and Pine Forest Rd. about 2:45PM. After talking for a little we departed on our ryde to the Wind Creek Casino in Atmore, AL. We took the back roads which is a 50 mile ryde to Alabama from our start point. It basically follow the course of the Perdido River and through some great farm country in Northwestern Escambia County. The weather was kind of dreary - overcast and thehumidity was up and it looked as if it would rain at any moment but encountered none.
had a nice dinner at the casino's buffet - half price for all; the company was excellent. Rode back by a more direct route arriving home about 8:30PM.
Wish more could have made it but it was short notice for the ryde for most. Will get another outing organized soon with more time for all to attend.

wish we could have made it. I dont get to check these boards as often as I should. I just PM's a couple of you my contact info. Littlebit and myself are out and about today on our bikes. We are in Pensacola now by the base and thinking about riding out to Milton.

On a different note, I was reading some other forums and found the law enforcement was reading the baords and showing up when ever people post a ride. So they have taken it to PMs and phone calls. Of course spyder riders arent as reckless as rocket riders so it shouldnt affect us. LOL yeah right.

Anyways... if you guys are out and about like we are, give us a call and maybe we can meet up.

the weather gods were good to us. It really warmed up and turned out to be a decent day. We rode all around downtown, then up scenic and across 90 to Pace/Milton, than back to pensacola for lunch; over to the park on langley then back to the westside. Checked my phone but guess everyone had Superbowl plans. Hope to get up with everyone soon.

I know sabunim has got plans this weekend (and I got a honeydo list that keeps growing). So how about we set something up, informal. Hangout eat, maybe ride but just a preliminary hook up. Like for saturday February 21, 2009. Any suggestions for a meeting spot?

I have to work at West Fla Hospital weekend of Feb 21 and 28 but am going to be free the weekend of March 7. I think that is the weekend of the Car and motorcycle show in Mobile. Let me know if I am right and if it is I will be able to attend. Sorry I can't meet on the 21st.

Could make it on the 21st, but not until the afternoon. I am teaching martial arts in Navarre, in the morning. I teach every other Sat. morning. Looks like there are now at least 3 of us that could go on March 7th. I can trade out and not teach that day if we are all going. I'll keep checking the site to keep up with what is going on.
