Around here, for years New England was called the Boston states, not so much anymore.

The wildfires in Chelan is a subject on NBC Nightly News. 40 homes have been lost. The fires are predicted to expand. Certainly hope Murphy Brown is OK.

Fires are a natural process of the west coast ecology. You can only suppress them for so long. Once the dead to live ratio gets to a certain point (and beyond because of misguided prevention policy). You are going to get fires that no one can put out. I used to call it "Job Security".
