This was my idea for protecting the seat in the sun or rain, but should also dissuade some one from sitting on it.

A piece of raingear nylon, and a little velcro . The back has a little tab to help you pull it into the trunk.

Not bad! That's something to think about having.

Since the Spyder Sisters sell their seat cover for thirty bucks; your option looks like a pretty fair savings of money!

That looks great, however, I'd prefer one that could protect the instrument panel from the sun etc.

Another item that may have been missed in this discussion is that the Spyder Sisters unit not only covers the seat but ALL control switches. Seems if people don't actually sit on your Spyder they just can't resit playing with all those switches. I never use the kill switch but have lost count of the amount of times someone has played with it and am guessing any other switch in sight. Since I've began using my Spyder Sisters cover I haven't had any issues.

Sometimes; impish folks who understand that switch's function... will decide to have fun with it! :gaah:
I've learned to just run my thumb over it as I mount the bike: it lets me know if it's been tampered-with.

I just checked and all the Spyder Sisters stock is sold out.

I didn't see one for the RT from the Sisters.

The measurements for you that can talk your brides into making one (or you are the seamstress) is 53" front to back, 52" across the back and 42" across the front. This wind/rain slicker material is 59" wide, used a yard and one half. $7 a yard at Joann's.
