Hi everyone, I'm about to bring my 2015 St-s in for it's first 600 mile Doctor visit. I called to schedule the day, and mentioned that on my first night ride, I discovered that the horn, parking switch, and shift paddle were not lit (all on the lower half of the left hand instrument controls).
The person that I spoke to said that he didn't think that they were supposed to be. :dontknow: I can't see any sense in having them dark, so I'm thinking that either I didn't explain it well enough or else he may not be a mechanic.

The third option is that I am merely exercising my right to be wrong. :roflblack:

Any words of sage advice out there?
Thanks!
Pete

Why are you taking it in at 600 miles? The first service is due at 3,000. :dontknow:

It's because the ST still uses the 990 motor, and that has a 600 mile first service.

Pam, he has an ST with the 998 engine, first service is at 600mi. The 1330 engine is in the 14/15 RT's and the F3 with first service at 3000 mi.

Pete, I don't have an ST but I would think they should be lit.

Nope, they are not lit.

Ah ok, I didn't realize the ST still used the 998. My bad...

I agree....The left hand switch bank on the ST is the same as on the F3 and those buttons are not illuminated.

Respectfully, after riding for a while you'll do it all by muscle memory....and you'll see that it really isn't
necessary for those controls to be lit.

:agree: It just takes some "Saddle-Time", and your left hand will be able to figure out what needs to be tapped, and when!

I think we've all hit the horn by accident a few times while looking for the directional signals

I've decided that I do that, in order to warn everyone about what I'm planning on doing next! :yikes:
