Does anybody have the template for the cut out for scoops kit. You can buy the kit for $67. But no instructions. I have an 2012 RTS .The dealers have the kits.

I asked our dealer about it today and he said he would check on it.

The instructions are at the end of this recall because it is part of it-Page 18-22.
My dealer Got me the kit for $67 and cut the 2 panels for me for $50. I installed.
If your crafty you could figure to cut out a smaller hole (Once you position the scoop) and then once the kit is on the Panel widen the hole out to the proper size BUT your better off with them doing it as they All received templates or having them Just mark the panels for you and you cut and install.

From the picture in (5.) Page 19 you could approximate a slightly smaller hole and if I had to do it over again I would have just cut the hole myself -Slightly smaller and widen later!!!
You basically mark and drill 5 holes on each panel (I did only 4) and screw in the screws from the inside of the panel and screw a couple more pieces on.

Depends on "How Much?" your dealer will work with you or if they just insist on charging $300 Plus for doing a Job most could do quite easily!

Installed my scoops easy fix ,used one part of the kit to line up the holes for the screws, then put together the kit ,then cut out the holes for more air flow. All done with no instructions,in the kit , I used the help from members of SL. Thank you

Glad you got it done! The kits were "Intended" as part of the recall so that's why there's No Instructions and people have to refer to the recall instructions Page 18-22.:congrats:

FYI the dealers got a "jig" to mark the cut out for the hole. It's not really what you might call a template (like a paper template).

Would be nice if someone would after cutting the hole, trace it to a paper template for others in the future.

I'd like to order and install these on our 2010, can we buy them yet? The wife has gone through 3 right boots due to the heat melting the glue and allowing the soles to separate. To bad I'll have to remove the moveable air wings that I mounted there.

My dealer had them in stock part # 219800388. RT ventilation kit . $66.99 this is not the retrofit for 2013 it is the scoops for 2012 and before. You do not need the template ,after you install the scoops you can cut it out ,I used a Roto zip.

You can do 2 things before you even get the kit on your model!
1- Take off the acoustic panels that cover each Cylinder head- There is one on each side and 2 10mm bolts on each.
2- Take off both underneath panels! Most take off the one on the left side when they first change the oil BUT the one on the right side lets out Much more heat than the left side and allows the heat to escape from the Master cylinder area.
3. You don't need the template- When you get the kit it will be obvious what to do and the Recall directions were listed before.. With ALL 3 done your engine will run much cooler and the front of the seat will be cooler.

Could you you please get me the contact info of where you ordered the kit? My local guy wants $279, just for the kit. Same part number.

Thanks!

$279 sounds like the cost of the full 2013 recall kit.
A friend of mine is taking his 2012 into the dealer today to get the scoops put on. He is being charged $79 for the kit and 1 hour labor.

Give your dealer the scoop kit part number that is in this post as again he probably just looked up the 2013 recall kit.

I contacted CanAm, and they authorized my dealer to install the kit as a good-will gesture on my 2012 RTS LTD at no cost to me.... Maybe you should give that a shot first.

I'm assuming the RT VENT Kit 219800388 is both sides and comes in standard black? Can someone please confirm before I place an order from Australia.

Have been in touch with a dealer enquiring about the RT Vent kit which is only available in Australia for 2013 models. No offer for my 2010 RTS SE5.
