View Full Version : Would This Be Possible?

Whenever anything is posted; we get to see some basic information about the person doing the posting:
Their name
Member Status
Where they are from
Number of posts
and When they joined...

Would there be any value to adding a sequential membership number; based upon the date that a person joined?

...Just Wonderin'...

You go to the Member List...
If you click on the join date; it'll change over from listing everyone alphabetically, to listing them in chronological order.
On my computer; it lists 30 members per page., so just find the page with your name on it, and grab a calculator!

I think you can find your member number by clicking on your name at the top of the page, then clicking the "About Me" tab, then locate the "This Page" under Contacts. This will list your number. Mine is 11919...
That same page will tell you the exact Join date as well....

I am also seeing most of the information posted with the Avatar presentation picture.

A lot of people are not into numbers when it concerns # of posts, how long, etc. In some cases it just makes some members angry.

I just come back each day because I find the site interesting. I post on the threads that interest me (about 60%), and don't care about where I am in the numbers game.

If one wants to find out statistics, # of posts, previous posts, etc, that information is readily available with a bit of looking. I go back and check things out quite a bit--because I like to see where a person is coming from when they make certain statements. More than once, that information has changed my opinion compared to reading just one post.

That might be it...
I know that Lamont has culled the herd from time to time, the higher number may take into account every member, who has ever signed up.

I thought about that for a license plate once--but it never got past that stage. I had a feeling I would get car damage if it were to fly. :roflblack::roflblack:

Here is what AK motor vehicles said:

Enter Plate Characters: 666 { SORRY, YOUR REQUEST COULD BE INAPPROPRIATE OR OFFENSIVE TO OTHERS }

Not sure the significance of this .....unless it's to use as a status symbol or separate classes. Our gov. has given us numbers based on when we joined this planet. Has it been a good thing? Not sure.

I'm on page 315 of the member list. I calculate that I'm #9,437. Oddly, many of the others joining about that time had 0 posts or only 1 or 2!

If you do a sort by clicking on the word posts at the top of page one, it will list members top to bottom according to the number of total posts. It is amazing how many of the 10K plus members have less than 10 posts.

I looked myself up, and found that I am #13,385. I was going to say #2 as a joke, but changed my mind:joke:.

Another thing I found out was that there was twelve others that signed up the same date as me.

Another thing I found interesting was (while I did not look at all of the 447 pages) some that joined after me, but are well known on this site. One person that I thought was here before me.

...Just Wonderin'...

Bob,

How about a Post/Day ratio? That would be interesting. I did a quick look at that and....

YOU are :firstplace: with 32.603
Chupaca is #2 with 16.812
akspyderman is #3 with 10.407
cuznjohn is #4 with 7.874
NancysToy is #5 with 7.614

Don't know how I rank, but my ratio is 1.685

You can easily compute this ratio from this page (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/memberlist.php?order=desc&sort=posts&pp=30).
