I bought one for the Spyder today, and the suction cup mounts easily on the windshield. I have short length of line that serves as backup. I'll send a picture sometime.

But... I set the Garmin to AVOID HIGHWAYS, then set up a trip from Seattle to Portland. It is a 3 hour ride, but it shows some crazy number because it can't deal with avoiding highways without heading to the other side of the state, or out to the coast. When I do the trip on Furkot, the avoid highway works. When I do it on the Garmin... it sends me on totally crazy routes. Any thoughts? I remove the AVOID HIGHWAY and it can handle it. SO far the avoid highway function is crazy bad.

It appears as though Highway Mode doesn't work so well on this model at least. But, if you take it out of highway mode and carefully add waypoints that are off the highway, it will do well. In this way you can do a mix of highway and non-highway easily.

Glad you got it figured out. The trip computing logic can be quite different from one GPS to the next - even when both are made by Garmin.

:agree: I STILL haven't got my 660 on the same page with me, for when it comes to trip planning... :banghead:
I usually end up "Google Mapping" the route that I want... then that Girl in the Zumo and I, keep a running hatchet fight going; until I get where I want to be... nojoke
