Do you have one preference over the other. Dew Rag or Skull Cap under your helmet? Which one stays on the head and in place better? Why do you prefer one over the other. 110 today and riding home I couldn't keep the sweat out of my eyes and from running down my poor hairless head. What say you???

I bought a Heat Out cap from Cycle Gear that seems to be OK. Keeps the sweat off my helmet lining but does pull off and stays in when I doff the brain bucket. The fro stays reasonably in tact and there's always the ball cap in the trunk. Riding in the temps we've had I sweat hard even through mesh jacket and really don't care. Going to wash it tonight and see if it tightens up any.

I use a helmet liner from LD Comfort. I wear it in the summer and it keeps my head from sweating. I also wear it in the cold for warmth. I have a bad sweat problem particularly around my head and i tried several different products. I got the one from LD Comfort because I wear their underwear products and I like them so much. This helmet liner is the best I've tried. It works for me.

Scull cap. Soaks up da stuff that would soak into your liner. I never picked cotton or wore a Do Rag,

I use a Halo on and off the bike it works great when working in the garage or yard. No sweat in your eyes and great evaporation.

Use a cap, a schampa or a heat out, or ldcomfort. A dew rag has a pesky knot. Knots and helmets don't mix. Joe

2x on the Halo skull cap. Not under helmets however. I wear a Daytona half helmet these days and I prefer it without. Rode for a long time with just a skull cap and lost several in the wind when going 110 like you did.:doorag:

The solution is velcro for the knot

Criteria for wearing a dew rag:

1. you must own and ride a Harley/HarleyChopper

2. must have a sizable tattoo

3. you and your SO must smoke Camels. (not real Camels stupid, the ones with no filters)

4. must drink at least a twelve pack per day of Coors with a shot of Jack Daniels chaser for each can

5. etc.

Naw, I would stick with a skull cap! I don't need one myself. I don't sweat. Just got back from Sedona AZ an hour ago with temps to 113* along Lake Roosevelt. Now if I found one that would stay wet for and hour or two it might work. Had a soaker vest and my Frog Tog neck soaker and was actually quite comfy.

If you have never been to Sedona AZ put it on your "bucket list". I watched the sun rise on "Coffee Pot Rock" with a cup of Sky Ranch Motel's best coffee. Doesn't get much better than this. Left at 6 AM, stopped in Payson AZ for a great breakfast and home in Tucson/Oro Valley by 1:00 PM.

I have been looking at this one and the same brand only in the skull cap style. Not sure which will work better for a full face helmet.

That's what I was wondering and thinking but was looking for some confirmation.

Thanks,

Well I don't meet any of your criteria to wear a rag but I'm still exploring the possibilities. I like the idea of the vest and neck thingamabob. I do also have Sedona on my list for the end of September. Bunch of my Harley riding friends and I (with the wives in tow) are headed down. About a 5 hours ride down there. I hear its great. Done Flagstaff and both sides of the Grand Canyon several times. Winslow Arizona is a great ride also with a stop at the big Crater. It was pretty pricey but worth it. Did it two years ago. Loved Winslow.

Either works well I prefer the tie type to make it tight. They material is very thin but strong you will not feel the knot. I wear a composite helmet.
