Living in Florida full time, is it safe to go with 10w-40 synthetic oil.

As long as it meets one of the API service categories listed in your owner's manual unless it's an F3. if it is an F3, see last paragraph in http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?82580-Oil-Level-on

I use 10w/40 works good on my 2012 RTS with 43000 miles
