It's for folks who don't know which side of their car the gas door is on. I have a friend who drove around for about three years, constantly forgetting which side of her car the door was on. When I pointed out the gas pump icon to her she said "I never noticed that before". Now she gets it right every time.

After what seems like YEARS of having fuel doors in random places ; I've finally got a stable of vehicles, that have them all on just one side. (The Left)

The only car manufacturer that got it right was the old Jaguars...one on each side or in the middle...the traffic jams in gas stations is scary now...:roflblack:

I knew a girl that ran out of gas at least once a week. she couldn't find the filler. It wasn't on either side, it was behind the license plate.
