Hi folks,

Disclaimer: I am not asking anyone to try this. In all the years that I have spent jumping out of airplanes for grins & giggles I have never encouraged anyone to try jumping. If you want to try it & have some questions, I'll happily answer them but I'll never try to talk you into it.

This film is getting some good reviews ( OK, I'm biased  ) but I am mentioning it only to inform you. Some of you might want to go see it after reading this review: http://www.wsj.com/articles/sunshine-superman-review-leap-of-faith-1432232903

I never knew Carl but have jumped with some guys who were his jumping buddies. He was an interesting character.

I've always been fascinated with flying. :D
But jumping out of a perfectly good airplane that's NOT on Fire?
...Not so much!

But thanks for posting it!

Hi Bob,

Re: But jumping out of a perfectly good airplane that's NOT on Fire? ...Not so much!

A similar thread on my skydiving forum, so here are some answers from jumpers:

I use the old "you have not seen a jump plane".

The door was open. Duh.

If you want to swim you have to get out of the boat. If you want to fly you have to get out of the plane.

For those who skydive, no explanation is necessary.
For those who don't, no explanation is possible.

And my favorite: because that Cold Beer Always tastes especially refreshing,,, After a day of skydiving..http://www.dropzone.com/graphics/forum/laugh.gif and you just Don't Get That....
by staying On the ground....http://www.dropzone.com/graphics/forum/unsure.gif

PS) And my personal favorite: I bet you were afraid of sex until you actually tried it.
