Folks, when you are going to park near other bikes that are 90degrees to the curb, with the Spyder, do you park like the bikes (90 degrees) or parallel to the road? Do you back in like the bikes?

I always back in and park 90 degrees (or at an angle) just like the other bikes. If there are no other bikes around, I"ll park parallel to the curb.

I usually park the Spyder like I would a car - unless I think it's safer to park somewhere else.

We're a lot longer than the typical "leaner". Be careful to not leave your nose out in harm's way...

I usually park the way the rest are parked.

Kind of depends on how much room there is to park. I generally park with protecting my spyder from whatever, but if room is tight I try and park as the other bikes are parked provided my spyder fits.

This is also the way I do it.

I just do what the others are doing. However I have never been a with a group that parks on the ceiling so I do not know about that part. Parking by myself among cars, park as the space indicates

Directions for parking on the ceiling can be found in "Mary Poppins--tea party on the ceiling." You will get a real "laugh" from that one.

I think it depends on your local laws. In California, motorcycles must "be parked with at least one wheel or fender touching the right-hand curb" (section 22502 CVC). The California Motorcycle Handbook says, "Park at an angle of 45 to 90 degrees to the curb with a wheel or fender touching the curb."

Back in at the same angle the bikes are. ;)
If you park parallel and motorcycles then park at both ends....you cant get out :banghead:
The Spyder is the same length as my M109R...but do watch for length issues as some cities may have shorter/smaller motorcycle spots.

But here is a SUB-QUESTION:
Do you park the Spyder in spots reserved for motorcycles ??? :dontknow: Many of these spaces are painted/marked off for narrow 2 wheel motorcycles. Legally I suppose if your state classifies the Spyder as a MC then you are good to go (legally)....but being wider, you will probably take up 2 spaces and may get vandalized :doorag: for usinf them all up. ???

I would probably park in a regular car spot myself to avoid pissing off the 2 wheelers.

All of the above. If there is space I parallel park like a car, or I might 45* it to the curb. OTOH if the situation dictates, and there's not a lot of room with other bikes, I 90* it like any other trike. Of course backing in or better yet, nosing in downhill gives me a chance to show off reverse gear.

I generally try NOT to take up any more room in a motorcycle only parking area than I need to. The Spyder kind of sort of fits between the lines if you're neat.

Too much information here. Park anyway you feel comfortable with. Or--when in Rome do as the Romans do. Chariot parking can get real complicated so I won't go there.:joke:

If it is a large bike gathering or there is space where other bikes are at, I 90 degree in with the others.

I tend not to park it in motorcycle designated areas because I wouldn't want a two wheeler to have to waste a full spot because I was in the motorcycle parking. I have seen cagers get upset that a two wheeler took a full car spot but they never mind a three.

I fixed this for you:
