The whole spyder bucks program at Spyderfest was great fun and I hope they do it again.

Do think the format of the auction could use some work. It was thier first one and a learning experience for sure. As it worked out, unless you won big bucks on casino night, doing the poker run, the entire run, and both group rides, seminars etc. did not get you enough funds to even bid on a can of Lamoster cleaner or a hat. After a while it was taking so long with all the small items that Len started auctioning off whole cases of cleaner and large groups of prizes. There were simple far too many folks with thousands of spyder bucks for this to work.

Perhaps next year they can auction larger items, say those with a value over $100 and have a fixed price store for the smaller items. Hats for 750 or a can of cleaner for 500, T-shirts for 1000 would have worked well with the funds that were available in this audience. There was simply no chance for anyone with less than 1500 or so to buy anything.

I'd agree with the above and I'll add a couple more. When the auctioneer says "sold" the auction is over, if someone yells out a higher number after that they are out of luck because the item has been sold. Grouping everything together just to get it over with wasn't fair to the people that didn't have "thousands" to spend. That being said, the auction was a lot of fun to watch and I hope they continue doing if. Who ever came up with the idea; good job!
