You can see what I did: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?79909-Centering-clamp-webbing-on-Front-tires

1800+ miles to SF and no issues.

I think those straps would be hard to handle with the front fenders on the Spyder. I use regular straps, padded and warped around the lower a arms near the wheel.

Look at the tread from Blueknight911( mike) started on 5/10/2014 @ 11:54am " Keeping the Spyder Attached to the Trailer...............Revisited,,,, evaluation.

The RT is mine on a the trailer( it was a 2012RTS-SE5) it did not come off the trailer. Read the above thread. Deanna

These tie-downs work great. Got them at E-Trailer.com.

The front fenders will get in the way, The rear will get in the way too.
You are better to strap the spyder to the trailer as recommended in the owner's manual

to save space over strapping through the rim-- any thoughts? As other have said I would use straps thru each front & rear wheel instead. Running straps to front on front and pass thru rear on each side going toward rear. I have done this a few times with no issues. I would not go over the A-arms tho as the plastic is easy to break.

Those tie-downs work great and are very, very easy to run over the wheels, front and rear.
Fenders are absolutely no problem.
I have used them to tie down Spyder RT for 100's of miles with no problems whatever.
If you have not used them yourself, do not dis them until you try them..

Never seen that type of strap, tried the ones that wrap around the wheel, fender in the way, now I just use three ratchet straps , one each front tire and one on the rear tire , easy safe and secure on my trailer.

Questioning why some of the members are saying the front fenders get in the way when using over the tire tie-downs. Then I realized that the clearance between the new style fenders and the tire are tighter than the older style, making it difficult if not impossible to use the over the tire hold downs.:banghead:

I am using the Super Clamps. There is non easier. Only two 18" straps in the center that can be done while still standing. When you drive on it locks itself into position.
These are made specifically for the Spyder and are purchased direct from the factory in Canada. They are expensive but a fantastic system. Factory direct is $380. That is about what you would pay for a Baja Ron sway bar installed. No laying or sitting down to get straps on.
i am at Spyderfest at the Holiday if you would like to see them. PM me with your phone number and we will make arrangements.

Here is a suggestion use Tie-Downs

Put strap over rear tire, then the rest of the strap run under your Spyder, then hitch to front of trailer. The strap wont scratch your Tupperware on your spyder. The above has been done, on my (2012RTS-SE5) Spyder, and was very secure on a trailer. Ask Blueknight911( Mike) about the above Tie-Down. Deanna

I use cheap HF 2" tie downs over the 3 tires, the fenders are not an issue, slipping the webbing over the front tires is a trick, but above is my solution, and IMO a no brainer.
