I have a 2014 RT Se6 which is essentially the same Spyder and I do not have a plug. There is a power outlet in the rear storage compartment but I believe that this is for charging an IPod or other type device while connected to the audio system.

You must hook up directly to the battery for heated gear. I burned up a jacket and a dual controller by trying to do other wise. It states this in the directions for install. I thought I knew better. You will need to change the supplied fuse to at least a 15 amp for jacket, gloves, and pants.

I installed a Low Profile Power Outlet on the left side of the glove box and picked up power off the post on the alternator and ground from the front left corner of the gas tank. If you do use the alternator post be sure to remove the ground lead on the battery first as the alternator has 12 volts on it all the time. Also use this outlet for plugging in the battery maintainer.

none of the roadsters come with a built in connection. Some dealers installed them but most have added them. The best :agree: direct to the battery and this also allows you to connect a battery tender. Where you mount the plug varies a lot we just have them under the seat and drop them out when we need them..

The grips are heated so I "did away" with heated gloves and just use a warm set of thinsulated.
As for the jacket/liner, I opted for the Gerbings large lithium battery 128MKVT kit with @ 8 hours between charges.
Actually made the switch to battery when I still had the Electra-Glide.

You must run cold if you need a heated jacket in Tampa. LOL

if you don't want the wires hanging down we opted to use the blank button right above the glove box. between the four switches there is a blank button there with nothing underneath it. You will have some fun removing the glove box to get to it, but it's not that hard. I used that one for the driver. On the passenger on the left side there is another blank button that works nicely. Just make sure you wrap the extensions that you will need to purchase very good to keep them from being exposed to the heat under the tupperware.

We use the 12v coil extension cords to hook up from the bike to the jacket

I'll try to get some pics up in the next few days.

I ran a flush mount plug and thermostat by my dash for my heated gear.

Tested Saturday and was extremely happy with the instant heat for my gear

Yes when I purchased my 2015 RT-S I asked the dealership to add a pigtail under my seat for heated jacket/battery tender.
