I installed one on my M109 and have thought about doing it on the spyder. Kind of uncomfortable digging into this thing for a while.

Not a bad install on the '14 . Plenty of room for it where the original horn was. Some have installed and used the wires that were hooked to the original horn but I went ahead and ran power from the battery to a relay.

Can you use the original wires to trip the relay and then power it direct from the Battery

Not sure about the spyder, but on the M109 I liked to keep the stock horn in the loop. That was in case the upgraded horn failed, I still would have one. I actually like the spyder horn, but the ones on most motorcycles are too whimpy.

Yes. That's what I did. Remove old horn, hook old horn wires to a relay (coil) and run hot and neutral from battery . Run hot through normally open contacts on relay then to the positive on the new horn. Hook negative to negative on new horn. Put ear plugs in and push horn button.

I picked it up at advance auto. I threw the package away and not sure of the dB rating.
The wiring paper I have says Model HWK 1. All I know is it is loud!

It will work but my concern is would the horn Button handle the current without eventual damage.

44.00 at Advance Auto for the horn kit and 15.00 for the relay wiring kit.
