Hey All. I wanted to shout out a thank you to Mike, aka BLUEKNIGHT911. I was looking to repaint my Minitrailer USA Shadow to match my Cognac RT. After looking at threads to get codes and prices of oem paint ($175-$190) per quart, I cane upon Mikes post suggesting the VHT spray paint in the Burnt Copper color which I found at Auto Zone. Well...6 hrs and $40 dollars later...Tah Dah...Two coats paint and two coats clear. Turned out great! Thanks Mike for your post. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=103679&stc=1

I thank you for the kind words and I do recall you and I conversing about the Paint thing......However I'm actually BLUEKNIGHT911  :roflblack: :roflblack: .... , The thing about the BRP paint is when you add the shipping cost it really becomes out of reach....IMHO........PS ..very nice JOB,...Mike

Looks good. How long did it take to dry between coats?

In response to the question about time between coats. I waited a day between paint coats. The clear instructions were to apply initial coats within 1 hr so I put two on. Could probably use a couple more as not as shiny as the spyder finish. Sorry Mike for ID error. Just so pumped about the outcome. A $40 dollar paintjob instead of $500. More farkle money! Here is a pick of the two together. The trailer appears just a shade lighter to me but still a better match than when trailer was black. If you buy a graphics kit from Pete at WrapMySpyder, you will notice that Pete puts a lot of extra graphic pieces in the package. I used them on the trailer. Thanks Pete! Could not be happier.http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=103972&stc=1http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=103973&stc=1

Thanks Bob. Will be taking some overnights before the Arizona summer kicks in. This has been a project I have wanted to get done for awhile. Just didn't expect to do it myself.:thumbup::yes::yes:

Looks great. I'm fixing to buy one in the white color to match my RT L. Does it pull well?

Hi TexAmRider.

The trailer pulls great. I don't even know its back there. I watch it in the side view and it is rock solid. No swaying even in high crosswinds. Love the front diamond plate as no need to worry about nicks from debris. It is carpeted inside and the aluminum mag wheels, cooler carrier, and luggage rack is standard with all of their models. Have taken it on several trips of 200 miles or more and its great. 8 ply tires and I believe 14 inch wheels. Struggled with the decision between the can-am and this. Figured i'd get this one and if I didn't like it i could sell it. I won't be selling it. Great customer service also. Minitrailer USA is a site sponser. To wire it, get a tongue harness for the model year of your Spyder.:doorag: Also very well balanced. You can put a couple hundred pounds of gear in it and the tongue weight comes in at well under 50#.

Somehow; didn't you always have the feeling that Mike knew what he was talking about? :D
I may even try picking up some of that paint, and giving the Black "chin" of my bike a bit of a wash with it. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=104011&stc=1
