Saw somewhere onsite about cat delete for 2013 or 2014. Mentioned it made Spyder run cooler and gave some extra deep sound as a result. Have a 2014 RT-S SE6. Would like to delete my cat. Any help would be appreciated. Have done search but could not find this particular post. Thanks.

How hard is it to remove for someone who knows how to put gas in, start and enjoy the ride.

Thanks,:dontknow:

You will need to be able to get under the bike and you need a hook for the springs (similar to a screwdriver with a pointy hook on the end) might be easier way but that is how mine got done.

For someone that is mechanically inclined maybe a 4 hour task, all thumbs 6 hours. For me it took 2 days but then again I also insulated most of the pipe and spent allot of time with a cold one or three. The picture shows all I used.

(would love to say CAT Delete but with 6 cats, my wife would delete me)

14 RTs is different and easier. As for the idea of no mechanical skills installing it, just pay someone and avoid the grief. Not difficult but more a pain and you should have a spring tool. Once cooled off, if raised off the ground 15 minutes with the Pitbull / Lamonster bypass pipe if you have done it before.

If you lived closer I'd do it for you.

All THUMBS here and can no longer lie down on the ground and get up easily.

So had my installed yesterday by a local (Squared Away) out here in Las Vegas where "heat" is a significant factor.

Immediately noticed, it now sounds like a bike, my feet are staying cooler, the bike is running cooler, and has a little more get up and go.

The 2014 cat is about 5-10lb heavier and larger then earlier models. The weight savings is around (guesstimate) 20lb.

Next week when I fill the tank I'll start checking to see if there is any mpg advantage.

Can't speak for others but for me it was definitely worth it.

Thanks,:dontknow:To enjoy the ride for very long, you must also know how to check the oil and "fluff up the tires"

If you are like us...the mileage will drop a little. It just sounds so much better pulling each gear over 4k rpm, which does not help increase the mpg. On the open road in ECO with cruise on it is at least equal and maybe a slight bit better for us. Problem is those on ramps tend to always kill the mpg, but the smile is wide and merging with traffic is never a problem...
