I have both an air compressor and a bike pump that plugs into a 12v plug. If I have read correctly I would want to use the bike pump?

A quality digital gage works just fine and is much less expensive and easier to stow away in your :spyder2:.
So your off one half pound. Your bike won't care and you'd never know the difference, unless of course you're traveling around mach 2 and above. :roflblack: :roflblack:

:agree: I have one and it works great. You just have to lower the air pressure output on your compressor. Plus, always try to support our site sponsors.

I have to agree with 2dog, I made one of the equalizers for about $15 and it was a pain in the butt, I also decided that the gauge in the tool kit was a pain, so I used a hook on a suction cup. I also found that an extension on the value made it easier to check and to fill. JT's "Dual Fill" makes it really easy . . . if you need air, you only pump once. Also, most tire pressure gauges are not that accurate . . . so being sure you are within 1/2 lb is pretty tough. With one of these, the pressure is exactly the same in each front tire . . .

I tried that type of air chuck and you can't get them off very easy so you don't get a consistent air loss each time you take one off.

both JT's and others are more a shop tool. Don't think they were designed to carry around but if you want to JT's is very compact. The quick connect coupler is really great and easier to use...:thumbup:

No. Two reasons. JT's is friendlier to your wallet. More important though, IMO, is the clamp on nozzles in the eBay version will be difficult to attach and detach off the valve stems. You are likely to lose air when taking them off. The clamp on nozzles like on JTs will come off quickly with hardly a puff of air lost. You can also use just one end to air up the back tire. Works better than reaching the valve stem directly with an air nozzle.

I made my own but I'm not sure it was worth the trouble. I did fix it up so I can use either an air hose with regular nozzle or plug it into an air hose quick connect.

Edit: It's air chuck, not nozzle. Damn, this getting up in years sure messes up the ol' rememberer. I see JT also says the same thing about the clamp on chucks.

But my comment about using it on the back tire is additional to what the others have already said!:yes:

I agree. JT's is less expensive, though it does not have a gauge. I use a digital gauge from Harbor freight.

You can get the Dual Fill with or without a gauge and I now have a 0-100 psig gauge in addition to the 0-30 psig gauge that I originally had.

FYI I checked the accuracy of the BRP air gauge and mine was off by 2.5 lbs!!!!

I bought this gauge and it is right on per a very high end expanded scale gauge I compared it with.
