View Full Version : Anyone lost a cardinal

If so, there's one in my back garden singing its head off.

Has to be lost, no bird in its right mind would be up here just now.

Howling winds, frigid temps & the coldest winter in 20 yrs.

I hope it can hang in there until the weather improves, but there's no sign of that for a while.

Let's hope that was a pine grosbeak. More suited to the temperatures and climate.

No such luck I'm afraid. I can always recognize the song/whistling of the Cardinal & the way it likes to be at the top of the tree & male ones are easy to spot.

Was hoping that was not the case. Hope the bird makes it through the winter. We still have a lot of ducks and geese around that did not fly South for the winter. They are doing well so far.

One of my daughters lives in Vancouver & hesitates to tell me what their temp is in case steam & rude words come out of her phone. Their cherry blossoms are almost out or out already. GRRR
