F 3 Gas milage

Just wondering what MPG are you guys/girls getting on your F3s.

Can it be worse than the regular? with the 1330 i would have to guess so. Spyders are a lot of fun and a ton safer than two wheels but man they suck down the go go juice like no other bike. My Yamaha sport bike which will leave the spyder sitting in the dust gets 10 mpg better lol.

The Blue Ridge Parkway windshield was a great choice! No wind buffeting, even with an open faced helmet the windshield did a great job protecting the upper body from the high winds.
Comfort was superb! The bad part was actually stopping for restroom breaks. Otherwise I could have done more miles continuously.
Handling was incredible! This is truly a trike with a soul of a bike!
Milage was around 31 mpg. Started at a full tank, filled after 136 miles with 4.6 gallons (capacity of 7.1) and did the rest of the trip with around 1/4 marking left on the fuel gauge. In conclusion: BRP not only hit a home run with the F3... It pretty much wrote itself into the Hall of Fame!

The larger rear belt sprocket will drop the mileage a bit compared to the RT. The F3's slimmer profile and lighter weight will make up some but not all of that difference. The engine will still be turning higher RPMs at any given speed in any gear since it's the final drive ratio that changed.

mileage is back to the RS/GS of yore..at least mine..but the ryde is way different..enjoy the ryde...:ohyea::ohyea:

Yep Lamont I agree 100%. Its like putting a bigger rear end in a muscle car. Whatever you lose in MPG you'll get back many times over in the fun factor. Kind of like when I had that ginormous motor in that Triumph Rocket III. The roll-on performance was pretty breathtaking at any speed and it put a big silly grin on my face each and every time.

First decent trip from Richmond, VA to Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. My F3 averaged about 30 MPG.

I may get the time later to explain my absence, but I am coming back here and there to comment and help on the F3 or the Spyders in general.
To add to this post: I did use the ECO mode during the ride. Cool feature to use, especially when you are coming from an 990 SM5 to an 1330 SM6. I was still shifting on high RPM's until I was 60 miles away from Springfield. There I turned on EcoMode until West Plains, MO (35 miles). I fuel up in Mammoth Springs 28 miles later which that is where I fueled up 4.6 gallons getting 31 MPG.

Fillup 1: 28.1 MPG (most of the driving on this day was through city traffic, lots of stop & go)
Fillup 2: 41.25 MPG (1 up, mixture of city/mountains/highway)
Fillup 3: 38.42 MPG (2 up, mixture of city/mountains)

No ECO mode.

Looks like you're getting almost the same MPG as the 1330 powered RT. That's pretty darn impressive. As they say, "your results may vary" but since you're already one of the early F3 owners racking up a lot of miles I'd say what you're getting is in the ballpark for what the rest of us will get.

Went to try buy a spyder today he told me the f3 get double the mileage.thats about 65 mpg..lol

After about 600 miles on my F3-S, I'm averaging 34.3 mpg. First tank was 31.8 mpg, third tank was 38.8 mpg. I've had it in Eco Mode for the last 300 miles or so, just to see what kind of difference it makes. We did about 200 miles yesterday with over half on the superslab and most of the rest at 60 mph rural roads.

As time passes we will be getting some good and firm mpg #'s on the F3.

My original guess was that it will be a bit less than those with the RT version and the 1330 engine. Here: 39/41 mpg pretty consistent.

Also guessing the F3, though lighter, will be driven a little harder by most. Now I am guessing 37/39 mpg for most.

As posted above, the F3 is not being bought for the economy factor, but for the fun factor. :yes:

Ave. of 33 mpg after averaging my first 3 fill up together, but I rarely use the freeway. Love the ride of this F3-S, my first spyder and it's a blast.:yes:

Better than my road kings (97 and 04) and more comfortable for my bad back.

Initially was getting between 31 & 33 mpg while breaking in & in the standard power mode with mixed hwy, street & mtn riding.
My last tank I went 168.9 miles in Eco-mode & got 35.158 mpg & your power is not to much affected. You have slightly lower rpm shift points & a 'up arrow' will advise you to shift up at rpm's that you think are too low {below 3000} but it doesn't bog down !
