My wife is looking for a silk (not slik, not microfiber, not silk-like) to pamper her hair, that her helmet wants to pull out. Does anyone know where I can find a SILK helmet liner.

Thanks in Advance, Patrick H

Pat;
i'm thinking her best bet would be to go find a seamstress and have a 'cap' made; sort'a like a doo-rag, or maybe they could make a 'liner' for the helmet from silk...

HTH,

Thanks for the info; however, we're looking for something for southern US summer riding, so a balaclava won't do. I was pleased to see something similar offered in real silk, just not the right item.

I would like something like that, but it's not in the US, at least not that particular product.

Pearl Izumi, a bicycle clothing manufacturer, makes a product I wear on winter rides that looks exactly like the silky helmet liner except that it has only one seam running front to back in the center of the liner. The Pearl Izumi liner also has the same edge seam as the silky liner and I find that unless my liner is correctly placed on my coconut the edge seam is pressed into my forehead and in a very short time I have to remove the helmet and adjust the liner to remove the discomfort. I am on the hunt for a replacement that doesn't have a raised edge seam, sort of like the Lycra head caps pro football players wear.

Have worn one like this for years... and love it (mine doesn't have logo on it). This little 'cap' works well and I don't think it flattens my hair as much as a bandana.

We've been using these for a number of years. Not Silk but they work as well. Wash and wear.

How about a cut off silk stocking?

My wife and I use the helmet liners from LD Comfort. Good in summer. Breaths so no sweat The wife says it keeps her hair from tangling and pulling when she takes her helmet off. http://ldcomfort.com/helmet-liner-cap-style.html
I use mine year round. Its cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. I recommend all their gear.

I get mine from REI but these are great. Thin and can be used in many different ways.

I used to get catalogs from this company. I ordered from them in the past. Seems like you should find something that might work. http://www.wintersilks.com
