I have two new ones I purchased and never used...The first one is a "TechMount" in black with all the hardware to mount on two bolts in center of the handlebars...

The second one is a "LeaderMotorcycle" mount in black which also mounts in the center of the handlebars...

The one I ended up using since I had installed the tri-axis handle bars was Jt's Machine shop one...Jt is a sponsor on the home page...

No matter who's mount you go with you will need the cradle that fits your GPS...

If you go to any of the above's web site you can see the product...Plus I haven't figured out how to post pictures...And the only picture I would have is JT's...

I'm sure some others will step up with more info...

I have had a number of GPS units for my bikes, and now have a Garmin Montana 650T - tops in my book. I can use it for a number of applications, run it for 16 hrs on the battery, then pop out the Li battery and replace it with 3 AA batteries for another 22hrs... It has BOTH streets and Topo maps for all of North America, and readily switches between them. It also has an 8MP camera, and if you take a picture of a landmark, will route you to it...

I started with a Leader mount, which was very well made, but offered limited security for a $500+ GPS. So I hit Ebay, and found the wired Garmin lockable mount, and a multi mount for the RT, to replace the Leader unit. I stripped off the right side tupperware, and found the BRP harness, and hardwired the switched power to the mount. Could have added voice to my radio, but I didn't/don't want it - it's iTunes/iPod or wind on my RT.

The mount was easy to install, wiring, not so much, but doable in an afternoon. All in all, I'm pleased with the results, and it's almost identical to what I had on my 2010 RT. Plus, it's as secure as you can make it - so I don't have to remove it, if I stop for a meal, or walk down a trail....

Here is my GPS, a 7" Galaxy Tab 4 held in place with a RAM X-grip mount held down by JT's dash mount. Gets it up where I can see it.

Yep, JT's dash mount is the place to start, add a few ball mounts (from JT) and you are ready to go. Changes are a twist of the knob. If you need power, and you will, JT has the power set up. All is on his web store on the home page. JT has made it easy. As a side note I would really like the GPS mounted from JT'S mount instead of on the steering as provided on the Limited. The low mount takes your eyes off the road way to long when you need to concentrate on driving the most.

How would you ever get off the bike?? You couldn't walk into the loo here and expect all that to still be on the bike !!! :yikes:

My Ram bar used in the photo is 6 in. It brings it to the dash edge,

What material/how did you make the shield? Thanks

Sheet metal. Probably something like 24 ga galvanized. My nephew owns a heating/AC business. I made it there. The edging is 1/4" wire loom filled with silicone and just pushed over the edge of the metal.

Thanks, how do you "attach" it?

It's sandwiched between a Ram round ball mount, same as the one on the dash, and the Ram cradle for the tablet.

Steve do you use the original Garmin mount supplied with the RTL? Does the TourTech mount over it?

Yes, I mounted the Garmin harness cradle to the Tourtech locking mount as instructed, then mounted the Tourtech to the BRP adjustable GPS mount. Do you want pics of the mount without the GPS inside?
