Hey at least Spyders are not the only vehicle catching fire. I have a feeling it will not take years for them to figure out what is catching Jeeps on fire.

there are many cases of many brands and types of vehicles with fire issues. They are working on the spyder issues and hopefully will get it resolved. Sadly there will be others. Wait till all the electric vehicles start popping up. That was one of the reasons they stopped making them back in the 1900,s. There is a risk when you mix fuel, heat and electricty... Sails...:roflblack:

it matters not who makes it... if I had a vehicle that is prone to catch on fire.. I will --- GET RID OF IT.. my life & the lives of my loved ones & my house are more important than a defective vehicle ..

There's not enough information here...

...Was it the vehicle; or just lousy dealer prep-work? :dontknow:

I am also in the camp of it can happen to any vehicle at any time. There really is not enough information provided so far, to say the Jeep is a fire prone vehicle and the cause is X.

:agree: My first vehicle was a 1945 MB...
Then I had a '47 CJ2A
'57 CJ5
'74 pickup
'87 Wrangler
'89 Wrangler, AND Comanche
2002 Liberty
2004 Grand Cherokee
2006 Liberty
2009 Liberty

Plus all of the years riding around in my Grampa's old FCs...
lots of great times, and never an unplanned barbecue.

One would sure say that you are a fan of the Jeep. My brother has a Grand Cherokee, and he has nothing but good to say about it. I almost jumped on the pickup right around 1975 or so. The killer was they wanted an extra $1000 for the big tires that I liked. Big money in those days, so I walked from the deal.

My nephew's hobby is off-road Jeeping, mud slogging, rock climbing & such. The banner across the top of his Jeep windshield says: HUMMER RECOVERY VEHICLE :D
