Today at work I got a message from my dealer. My new Red SM5 Spyder arrived at the dealership this morning on a truck along with several SkiDoo snowmobiles that customers ordered. My Spyder was the last 2008 that this dealer was waiting for.
It's late for me seeing that we have snow in the forcast the next couple days in the northeast. I'm ready though. I'm well set up for cold weather riding. Anyhow, I left work to go to the dealership to get the paper work that I needed finalized and had my Insurance needs taken care of while at the dealer. I went with Foremost Insurance Company through AARP, $350 per year full coverage at $250 deductable. I had the insurance binder sent to the credit union, then headed there to finalize the financing, then back to the dealer within an hour with the check in hand to pay for the Spyder. They will be getting it out of the crate and have it all ready for me later
tommorrow and adding my accessories, Hindle, fog lights, caliper trim, custom wheel kit, side panel trim kit, 12 volt accessory plug. I hope to pick it up this Thursday or Friday if the weather isn't sloppy!

I can hardly wait :):2excited:

BRP is jacking the MSRP of the Spyder up $750. Nothing extra except for the price. Good luck in getting any money off. I'm sure there are people waiting in line if he doesn't take it.

welcome:congrats: - Congrats on the new Spyder. I've had my yellow SM5 for 17 days and have 1300 fun-filled miles so far. Sounds like you made almost the same deal I did with Foremost - I got mine for $340 with $250/$100 deductible and high limits. Illinois is a no-fault insurance State so it always adds a bit to the policy, but AARP was the best I could find - almost makes being old worth it, huh? :D

Thank you everyone! I'm sure I will enjoy it!

Hey, it's 1:30 am, I'm looking outside and there is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of snow on my back porch that came down overnight and still snowing! This is just not right! :yikes:

Smylinacha - I live in Fairfax Vermont in the northern part of the state about a half hour or so from Burlington. Next spring or summer it would be great to have a northern Vermont Spyder ride. It's scenic up here.

ATMJIM - An 09 would of been in the works if it wasn't received by this Friday. My dealer told the sales rep that. We were firm on that, no Spyder before the end of October, plan to get me an 09 at the same price. I guess it worked!

Roaddog2 - I guess I won't need to trade for a sled. I already have three, two that I'm still paying for. I have an 07 SkiDoo Blizzard, my 16 year old Daughter has an 07 SkiDoo Freestyle and my 14 year old Son has a 06 SkiDoo 550X. We really love snowmobilng in the winter. It's a great family sport.

GeminiJane - Yeh, Sometimes older over 50 has it's advantages! I have to admit though, it would be nice to be at least 20 years younger again! I'm a single dad and been raising my two kids since they were 4 and 6 years old and it's a challenge keeping up with them especially now that they are teens!
