I'VE STATED IT BEFORE THAT I FOUND THE MAJORITY OF SPYD3R RIDERS TO BE ABOVE THE AGE OF 60....
I JUST READ THIS ARTICLE: http://www.roadrunner.travel/2014/06/16/touring-tip-riding-golden-years/ AND THOUGHT OTHERS WOULD FIND IT OF VALUE...

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL....

A good article with some good points. It is obvious that the people on this site are very smart.

Problems? Most of us have solved them by getting a :spyder2:.

Tally Ho! :roflblack::roflblack:

I'll have to admit, a few of them do apply to me, that's why I bought a :spyder2::clap::yes:

great article, though I believe I don't have those problems they may be creeping up and my wife may disagree. As long as my spirit and youthful frame of mind hold I will continue to launch out into no-mans land and see where it takes me. I do find many a youngin behind me....:roflblack:

A few of the items in that article apply to me. Bottom line without the spyder I would not be riding period. I am only 50 but some health problems have not allowed me to ride a motorcycle.
I am having a blast riding my spyder Rt SE5. I also need the SE5 or SE6 to be able to ride comfortable. My left has some mobility problems that would make it tired to use a clutch lever all the time.
I cannot thank BRP enough for bringing the spyder to market it has got me riding again as I can no longer snowmobile. I have met so many awesome people and have visited some great places since I started riding the spyder

IMO at some age the three wheeler is a no brainier. I had a 2 wheeler when I was in my 20s, bulletproof and 9' tall, no helmet, or protection, rode drunk, not a care in the world. Thankfully, learning from my mistakes, I know that I don't need the thrill of a 2 wheeler today. I happened to see a 3 wheeler a couple of months ago and thought "that's perfect" Can ride around and not worry about dumping it, a woman in my age group wouldn't be afraid to hop on, how could you lose.

Sure we are getting older and someday will fall apart but this allows us to have fun a lot longer. Of course, I've never given a damn about what others think, if I like it, if I want it, I go for it.

I agree, thanks to BRP for making it and relative trouble free.

I agree with most of what I read here and who really cares what others think. I really enjoyed my 2 wheels and now really enjoy the 3 wheels. And I can take my wife of 46 years with out fear of her ms causing her to fall off I believe in having fun as long as we can

Actually that was posted "tongue in cheek". I just try really hard to ignore most of the niggling little issues and continue living life to the fullest. And I sicerely hope that the Spyder will entice my wife of 48 years to once again throw a leg over the saddle and ride with me. There ain't much that would make me happier.

I've lost a "step or two" in the last twenty years. That would put me back in my 50's.

Riding my Spyder, makes it feel as if thirty years have fallen off of my chassis... :D
And it didn't come with a miserable co-payment that my health insurer wanted to fight about either!:roflblack:

Just don't remember the band's but on the upside I'm faster than 12% of others. Guess that means I'm slower than 88% though huh?

Some of it applies to me and those are some of the reasons I got the Spyder. Haven't regretted it at all.

Two artificial hips is WHY I bought the Spyder. With them there's no safe way to fall so two wheels, even pedal powered ones, went into my history book.

does anyone remember Burl Ives?
Watched him in a live concert in the Quad Cities, IA/IL in the late 80's. When he was finished the crowd, naturally, applauded for an encore. He stepped back out onto the stage, "I don't do encores. You got what you paid for." Turned around, walked off, and that was it. Has always left me with a bit of a negative feeling toward him. But I still like his music!

I ain't quite in my 60's, but I sure enjoy riding my Spyder on trips. I still ride my smaller Hondamatics back and forth to work when weather permits.
My wife only wants to ride with me when I take the Spyder.
It is tough for me to pull a clutch for very long. so that's why the SE6.
