flying is on my bucket list. at 63 i have never flown, it has nothing to do with the attacks on 9/11 it has to do with me doing work on the runways of Kennedy airport and seeing all the emergencies that happen during a 8 hour shift working out there.

there sure is a lot of planning and personel involved in making this work so perfectly. Not easy with the international mix but a beauty to watch...:2thumbs: thanks for the link...

When one considers the size and the aerodynamics of flying a plane like the A350, the formation flying looks like poetry in motion to me.

And...we are even liking them. Even with the wheel configuration backwards. :roflblack:

What a nice office the pilot has these days. Very unique to see such large machines formation flying. Great thinking outside the box. Thanks for sharing. (Looks like someone has something against airplanes and is trying to rob your thread).

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Most of us would consider this a subset of formation maneuvering. :roflblack:

Yeah, agree with akspyderman.

I had some cockpit time in C5 Galaxies. That thing always amazed me. Especially landing considering the cockpit is some 35 feet high. And yes, flying the A350 in formation takes a lot of planning and pilot skill due to the vortex generated by them.

I had no intention of hijacking the thread. I am impressed with the A350s in formation and should have said so right off. Now if they'd done a formation loop, that would really have been impressive!

When those pilots get shot at trying to stay alive during war like I do on my Playstation, then they can make a video on how good they fly. :roflblack:

That reminds me of a joke... :D
There's a honking big and old KC130 lumbering along, and he's met by some hot-shots in F-18s...
"look what we can do!" comes over the radio...
And the nimble fighters pull some really nice tight loops, and then fly past the tanker inverted...
"You guys are something. Watch this!", the pilot replies...
And the big beast just drones along for about five minutes in a nice, steady and straight line.
"What'd you think of THAT?"
"What'd you DO?"
I went and made myself a pot of coffee, and then hiked on down to the lavatory, and took a dump..."
"Try THAT!"

There anothe line befor the KC pilot responds in some versions. " I shut off two engines, can you do that ????
I would not want to be the plane flying in the slot in those foramtions. A lot of great flying and planning
