I doubt the species has a chance . . . even if all rhino poachers were magically stopped, right now, forever, only five Northern White Rhinos remain . . . the gene pool most likely isn't big enough to bring back a viable species . . . they would be so inbred that every recessive gene would be popping up, including all the bad ones . . .

You are correct, it is the poaching for their horns that has doomed them to extinction. The same thing is happening to both African & Asian elephants. All because some people think that the powderd tusks or horns can be an aphrodisiac. Sad to say, it is all driven by greed.

It isn't just the Asian medicine trade . . . men in Yemen prize rhino horn for their knife handles . . .
