Gas Prices--How Are Yours?

We had a lot of discussions about high gas prices.

Now, we are seeing a bit of the opposite. We are saying things like, Wow, I never thought I would see $2.00 gas. :roflblack:

Our current (12/5/14) low ball price for regular is now $3.21. The lowest I have seen here in a couple years. Premium--add .20.

I have heard of 199.9 in Oklahoma.

In October when I went to FL I noticed that pricing in the SE would be as much as .60 a gallon more for premium than regular. In Vegas it is only .20 more for premium.

filled up my truck Wednesday night (regular) $2.27 / gal... the price of a barrel of oil dropped $13 since Monday... looks like before the end of the year gas will be under $2.00/ gal

:agree: Cheaper gasoline prices; gives everybody less incentive to look at the alternatives...
I guess that I'll just continue to drive as little as possible, and hope that fuel oil prices also take a dive... :thumbup:

Gas went down a little more at the lowball station (Shell). $3.19 gal for reg and .20 more for premium. Brands don't mean much here though. One refinery services all brands. They consider gas as a fungible commodity. Look that one up. :yes:

Its headed below $2 for most of the country. The market price for gasoline is down to 177 and diesel/heating oil to 210.

Much of Canada has also seen a drop in gas prices.....but not where I live. Still charging us about 1.18 per litre which equates to about $4.52 a US gallon. We live about 50 minutes from the nearest American gas station and a lot of people drive across just for cheap gas. They make up all kinds of BS reasons why it costs what it does and non of them are honest. :gaah:

$2.67 Regular (87) at Costco in our area. It's up to 10% ethanol; but, I'm not one of those concerned.

According to some news reports, Missouri has some of the cheapest gas in the nation :yes: Currently in the St. Louis area "regular" can be found in the $2.24 to $2.30 range with "midrange" $0.15 a gallon higher and "Premium" another $0.15. I have not been to Sams in the past week, but usually they are $0.10 - 0.12 cheaper than the standard gas stations. I quess we will all enjoy it while it lasts! Maybe by Spyderfest it will be under $2.00 a gallon:ohyea::dontknow:

$2.419 on the sign here for 87 octane 10% ethanol fuel. If you have a shopper-card you get 2 cents off that and even more if you've accumulated shopping points at the grocery store.

It was $2.559 4 days previous.

Gas went down another .10 at the lowball station. $3.09 today. I think $2.00 gas is coming eventually to Alaska.

Two days ago the barrel price for oil was $67 and dropping--yesterday $64 a barrel. High here was $155. It still appears that the reductions in price are way behind the curve. They don't have any problem raising the price hourly when it is going the other way though. :lecturef_smilie:

Regular unleaded is 2.29 at a Diamond Shamrock on I-20 at exit 556. A store on the north side of I-20 at the same exit is 2.39. Go figure

First of all, I was born in your part of the country Winston-Salem and I still have a sister there and in Charlotte. I can't get back up there enough.

Here in Huntsville, Al. wew are still at $1.81 for 87 octane and $2.11 for 93 octane. I heard on teh news this morning that the price of oil dropped again on the the NYSE. So, I really don't think we have seen the bottom yet.

The real problem is that the normal supply and demand price balance is buried under about 6 layers of commodity traders.
They're not trading in oil.
They're trading in oil OPTIONS.
I hate the idea of new laws, but if there was a way to ensure that people who are trading in oil have to actually OWN the oil it would cut out a lot of this garbage.

That's my opinion, I could be wrong. I'm sure someone here will let me know.
