Put new front tires on my 2013 RT-S with 20,019 trouble free and wonderful miles.

Edit: I meant to add that I probably could have gotten another 2,000 miles on these tires. However, Cindy & I are going down to Ft. Lauderdale and then on to Key West for the "spyder cruise" coming up in early December. I thought it a good idea to go ahead and put new tires on now.

Today I went to gas up my Spyder only to find that the seat release cable had busted in the middle. So I have my Spyder half naked getting ready to take it to the Spyder hospital to have the cable replaced and as long as it is there, I will have them check it over and adjust the belt tension. Not exactly what I was planning for today! :(

were out for 12 hours today. Close to 300 miles from Connecticut to the North Shore of Long Island by way of the Whitestone Bridge into Queens, out 25A all the way to Orient point, 1 short ferry ride to Shelter Island, Then another short ferry ride - we're talking maybe 7 minutes for each one - to get to Sag Harbor on the middle fork of LI, the down to East Hampton on the South shore, back West on Route 27 North on 46, West on 25, North on 112 to Port Jefferson LI where we had dinner while waiting for the BIG ferry across LI Sound from Port Jeff to Bridgeport CT (I slept) then another 25 minutes home. Great, really interesting day to see places I've lived sort of near to since 1978, but had never seen. Lots of fun, hope to get one more ride in before winter bedtime. And, HAPPY VETERANS DAY TO ALL VETERANS!! I hope yours was a good as mine was.

I always top off before going back into my garage (cuts down on gas smell, as it cools the tank) . . . and discovered I got 38 MPG between Gore VA, where I filled with ethanol-free gas, and home . . . I averaged 45 MPH on that leg of the trip, sticking to back roads, but I've never gotten mileage like that! I'm tempted to get a 15 gallon gas caddy to keep in the garage, so I can start every ride with ethanol-free gas!

Battery Tender is the brand that many prefer of trickle chargers. The charging system on most motorcycles and SpYders (except the 1330) really don't do a good job of recharging the battery. Trickle chargers keep your battery at its optimum charge without overcharging when you aren't riding.

A quick disconnect is attached to the battery so you can easily plug in the battery tender.

Please elaborate why a battery tender doesn't do a good job on the 1330? What does the motor have to do with the battery?

I don't recall who said that "battery tenders don't do a good job on the 1330"...
They just might not be as necessary as they are for the 998s; the 1200 watt alternators seem to doing a great job!
But... if you store your bike for Months at a time; they most likely are a good idea anyway. :D

I got with a friend of mine and we did a 200 mile trip down to Fayetteville, and then over Goldsboro. While in Goldsboro, we stopped by the dealership that kept me hanging for 10 days to finally tell me that they couldn't work a deal for me on a 2014 RT. I just wanted to check out what they had in stock, and let them see that I did get a spyder after all:ohyea:. Another good thing about today was that I visited 2 job sites that I did drawings for, therefore, I can write off the milage as a business expense;). Today the temps were in the upper 70's. Starting tomorrow it should range from the 40's to the 50's.

Mine was dropped off at the house by the dealer. It was 50 and pouring rain, so I had them bring it to me for $51.00 after being in for ECM upgrade, belt tension check and a fuse panel water leak check. All under warranty or recall notices. While it was there I asked for them to look at the turn signal switch. It sticks when switched to the right. So it has to be manually turned off which normally turns on the left signal.
So when he pulled up in the garage I checked to see if the turn signal switch was fixed. Of course it wasn't so they loaded it back in the trailer and they are "going to fix it" this time. Hopefully they won't have it for another 12 days to do the 1.6 hours of labor they warranty work they had to do and fixing the turn signal switch.
Not real impressed right now.
They also still don't know anything about a heating issue on the right side footwell.

A day late on this, but I changed oil and filters yesterday. I wanted to take a spin afterwords but I have an icy/snowy section on the driveway and would not have been able to get up the hill.

17F this morning was going to ride to the dealer to see what he would give me on a trade for a 14 RT-Limited. BUT that darn driveway:banghead:

Finally got to ride this month. Headed to breakfast this morning. Low 40's, very cloudy and damp. Some of the corners and hills "greasy" areas that had been heavily salted seemed to be sucking up the moisture.
Headed out again after lunch to purchase some christamas gift cards. Good day overall, very cool and cloudy but it was good to get out.

Weather Forecast called for 50-60 degrees and sun on the Oregon Coast , so off we went for the 160 mile loop to Newport and back to the Valley .
The ride was great and Trina loves to run on the Beach .

Well, the new Timeless Black '14 RT SM6 (I call it "Funnelweb" after a deadly black spider that lives in these parts :ani29: :yikes:) now sports a pair of Rivco floorboards complete with heel/toe shifter PLUS the BRP backrest (which, at $583 Australian is outrageous) but I can't ride without a backrest. Polished with Turtlewax Ice and Armourall low sheen protectant to all the flat black areas. Summertime here and will be going on a nice ride to the beach the day after tomorrow.

Today I installed armrests( easy), and a luggage rack..rack was a pain but worth it. One thing I should have done but didn't was to put some silicone under the top washers. Installation directions didn't mention it so I didn't think about it. If I have any problems with water, I will loosen up all of the bolts and squeeze some in there.

Changed oil and filter on the SNOWMOBILES. Then loaded them back on the trailer for SUMMER storage. Ordered my CAT bypass for my ST-L on Thursday and waiting for it to arrive. Pittbull was out of stock on these. Said they should be delivered Tuesday 3/24, then they will ship it. Summer is on the horizon.

Wife and I went one town over for supper. Awesome ride with Pandora One playing through our helmets with our Sena BT audio. Could have been a little warmer, and less windy, but it was a good day and good grub!
