Did you know, that at the start of the 20th Century; there were fewer than 100,000 Whitetail Deer left in the United States.
Thanks to the Conservation Efforts of Sportsman; their populations have grown to where the annual harvest of animals in MANY States, exceeds that 100,000 number! nojoke

Columbia Co used to be a two person permit. Changed to one person in the '90's.

We need more of those darn forest rats culled. Way too many of them around here. They even had the bright idea a number of years ago to release a bunch of cougars to control the population. nojoke I just say open the season up longer and hand out more permits.

That's funny; I'm guessing that's how my NEXT hunting trip will turn out! :roflblack: :2thumbs:
Now that time and age have granted me some perspective; it's fun to just be out in the woods with them too!
I'll tell folks that, "The killing might have been poor, but the hunting was still GREAT!"

You beat me to it. I hunted muley's in New Mexico. Had meat for a loooong time. GOS member D. Lyles just scored 2 nice bucks and a coyote.

I don't think I could ever hunt. At least unless my life depended on it.

But I have no problem whatsoever w those who do. I think it's great that people hunt...especially since I think it helps greatly w keeping gun ownership legal...for now.

We had a similar thing happen here. Instead of releasing cougars, they released coyote. Instead of them hunting the deer, they nearly cleared out the rabbit population. After all this, the deer are still around.
