Very Interesting.

My final marriage proposal (1996) took place at Honeymoon Bluff in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. A nice 300 ft. or so drop down to Hungry Jack Lake.

Guess I am glad she said yes. :roflblack:

some married men might think he would be better off not have the airbag down there

No joke... nojoke
In the Sportsman's Education Courses that I helped teach; we discussed TreeStand safety. In the mid-nineties; there was a study done, that showed almost 35% of the folks hunting from elevated positions; re-discovered gravity the hard way! :yikes:
We told our students, that the BEST outcome you could hope for in a fall; is that it kills you!
(Naturally; I was the instructor, who had taken TWO falls... safety harnesses saved my bacon!)

I remember those days. That was before we had the belt tethers that wrap around the tree and let you fall 3 feet or so. Instead of the 15 feet.

I'm sorry but that was staged. Why would anyone stand around and not say anything while this guy stands on a ledge. Especially the girlfriend. She would be dragging him off that ledge or begging him to get down, not standing there watching him.
