Is the wiring plug that the optional heated seat plugs into already on the RT or do you have to install it.

Thanks

I don't know why the RTLT shouldn't have come standard with a heated seat and cb radio

Cost, and there are many owners that have no need of either of those items. Better they stay options.

ThanksThe 2013 RT comes standard with a heated seat, and it needs no electric connector plug. :sour: They discontinued that feature on the 2014 models.

I have a 2013 RT-S and it does not have a heated seat. So I'm going with they don't come standard on the 2013 RT mine does have heated grips which were standard.

The harness comes with the seat and plugs into a large black connector below the glove box and in front of the gas tank. You also need to connect the rround wire to the ground bolt in back by the rear trunk. You need to take off all the left side tupperware including the black cover by the left passanger hand grip to install.

i had a 2013 RTS and it definitely had the heated seat. It surely wasn't an option but rather it was standard equipment. I did have the optional after burner but I wouldn't really recommend that option.

For Spring/Early Fall we have a leg warmer!

But hey, then comes next Summer, it's then once again, leg of lamb BBQ season... ;-)

Buy a RENS Sheepskin, @ your local IKEA.

My 2013 RT LTD does not have a heated seat. Wish it did.

My 2013 RT LTD does not have a heated seat. Wish it did. No you don't. ;). With tongue in cheek, I was alluding to the "natural" heat generated by the 2013 RT.

:welcome:Welcome to the forum. This is a good place to learn a lot about Spyders. As another 2013 RT owner (who really does love this trike), I look forward to your posts. Sorry for the spoof. :sour:

Do all 14's have the connector or is that just for the L? I have my corbin heated seat wired to the rear accessory plug right now but if there is a factory connector I'd rather get the proper connector end for it and plug in there.

I think Corbin should be able to tell you that and also provide detailed installation instructions. Did the seat not come with any printed information?

They all do, but it connects it so the seat heats with the handle grip heaters (Spyder heated seat doesn't have a switch to turn it on and off). You do not want that for the Corbin. The way you have it connected is the best way.

The heater kits vary depending on what you want single or double The double kit comes with front and back heaters and a HI/LO switch with a power port you can mount the switch on the side of the seat or any place<you like. The Heat Demon is the best unit out there on the market. Single kit full price is $ 149.95 and the dual kit $ 199.95 I have them for $125.00 Single and $ 169.95 Dual kit Dave Call me 209-887-3283
