My tach quit this morning. Do U think it is the cable or computer?
I am away from my dealer, and no warranty.
If anyone has the answer, please do so.

it will be the sending unit or cluster. No cables involved. Check your fuses and connections to start. Now you have the digital and the analog type question is are they both out..?? :dontknow:

If its the needle not working, you should still have your digital readout. The only way to fix it is getting a new cluster.(yes, thats how mine was fixed) If your out of warranty, i wouldn't worry about it. JMHO

The needle on mine acts up every now and then. The digital works fine. I keep riding!

Thank U to those that responded. I guess it is off to the local dealer to have it repaired.

Just a note: Took my spyder out today and the tach works intermittently. To check connections, do U just take out the four scews and the whole dash can be inspected? Still haven't taken to dealer.
Thanks

Just had to replace my wife dash this week, she has a 2010 RT-S. I took the dash apart to get to it. the tech just took out the four dash screws.

I put in the new dash ,service manager said he think its plug and go,(tech was away) but it would not start ,so i had to take it to the dealer because they had to hook it up to BUD to program the new one in.

the price for the part list for $749 they gave me 20% off and to program it in 170.00 total with tax in PA $809.44.
