For those who live in the northeast, hope you were able to get out and ride today. the weather gods gave us a fantastic day today. My wife & I took a long ride upstate with no set plan in mind. If the road looked interesting we would turn and ride for a while until the next turn. With the weather this good who wants to stop. We stopped for breakfast, lunch and of course for gas (2013 RT-S). I hope tomorrow is as good as today. Get out and ride! Stay safe everyone.

Decided to take today to get all my chores done so I'm free to ride tomorrow. Planning breakfast at the diner then heading up past Port Jervis to the Hawks Nest .

The Missus and I decided to head up to Stockbridge, Ma for lunch. We had a running battle with "Lola"; the GPS Princess... She wanted to take up up the Thruway, and we preferred a ride up through Connecticut... It was a hatchet-fight for a while; but we convinced her that we were staying East of her chosen route.
Anyway; the ride was Beautiful! They might be a week away from peak colors, but it sure is starting to turn up there!
Oh! We waited until we had covered 220.2 miles, before filling up! We only took 5.188 gallons...42.4 mpg!
And we covered a bit over 245 miles today; it's good to be home again. :D

I was out riding today in my area of northern VT. I saw a large group of ridiers with Trikes and Spyders riding out my way. Most of them had NY plates. It sure was a great day to take in the fall foliage. The northern mountain areas are already getting near peak foliage. For all you riders visiting the area, enjoy the scenery and ride safe!

Ran errands all day today using the Spyder as transportation. I stopped at the dealer and they were having an "event day". One of the deals was 25% off on helmets, so I broke down and bought a full face helmet so I can temporarily retire my summer half-helmet and extend my riding season into the late fall and early winter. Tomorrow, I'm joining another Spyderlover, and his wife, for a trip to Md near the top of the Chesapeake Bay for lunch. Gonna eat some Maryland crabs.

Akspyderlady and myself did another fall ride today. A hundred miles up and down two mountain passes and a tour through the famous Matanuska farm country. Weather partly cloudy and temps in the low 50's/high 40's. Colors are now burnt out, we are into the faded golds and browns--but it still looked beautiful looking at the mountains with the golds and browns. Snow has now been added to the mountains that border the ice fields.

For us, it does not get much better.:yes:

While we were riding, I was having the studded snow tires put on the Forester. Any time after the first week in October is fair game. :roflblack:

Route 97 is beautiful this time of year, but it's best to try and avoid the traffic jams...

Wish I had thought to shoot some video while I was there. I had pulled off onto one of the scenic overlooks and was chatting with a few other riders while watching these guys (and at least one gal) zooming up and down the road. They were obviously turning around at each end and running it again.

It wasn't until later until I realized that if one of them lost it coming down the hill he would have wiped out everyone in the parking area I was in. :yikes:

I've got to mention this it's funny. It was a beautiful day Saturday for a boat ride. So I go to get gas uncover the boat fuel up. Late afternoon me my wife our pug Dudley cooler in hand go to go for a gorgeous ride.Get to the dock and the boat is gone. We looked like school kids who missed the bus.
Low and behold my brother called to have the marina pull the boat. They were suppose to pull after the weekend. He must have figured it was a good time being the boat was fueled and uncovered.
Wish i had a picture of me standing there with my mouth opened:gaah:

We rode about 550 yesterday from Durham, NC out to Cape Hatteras and back. Not much leaf action yet here, but when we were in Maine last week things were getting there. For some strange reason, Vermont and New Hampshire were actually farther along than Maine. Beautiful any way you look at it, though.
Doing the last leg of the vacation tomorrow. Back to Indiana. Been an awesome 11 days and about 4,000 miles on the RT!
We have met a lot of new people and had a blast. That Roadster sure is a conversation starter!
