I really like the F3 and can't wait to test one out, but I also really like to have some wind protection on long rides. think there is any possibility of an aftermarket shield? or is this bike to cool :doorag:

What do you all think??

BRP will offer a touring package that has a taller windsheild; that might just do what you want,,,

I don't think it will take long for the aftermarket to sense opportunities for the F3, but this time out I think BRP is providing a much broader range of options than they have for past units

They had several windscreens listed on the web site if you go through the "Build" screen. The tallest one was "medium".

I am looking at buying a 2014 RT in the next week or so. I really like the shorter windscreen that is on some of the 2015 models. I assume they make a shorter windscreen allready for the RT's, but I haven't seen one.

The Route 66 windshield looks the tallest and has a flared "flip" at the top edge to deflect air upwards. The Blue Ridge doesn't look to be as tall nor does it have the flared edge. Both are just under $400 each.

Wonder how hard they are to take on and off .I like the wind in my face on short rides

I kinda liked the look of the Blue Ridge shield. Looks like it would be fun to take the F3 "cruiser" and turn it into a light tourer.

I saw on the BRP website that a touring package which has that Blue Ridge windshield will be available. Normally a factory package will be considerably cheaper than buying the individual components. I haven't yet seen the cost for this package deal yet but would expect it to be at least several hundred dollars less than buying those items and installing them.

I'm using the 23" vented BRP replacement on my 2014 RT and am quite happy with it. Down, it gives good air and up it gives decent protection.

The original post was in regards to an F3 windshield and not an RT windshield. No harm-no foul, but you're not quoting the OP in this thread.

the Route 66 looks like the one that came on the ST...with distortion near where it dips in at top.....but hardware looks like maybe we can put Cal-Sci on...wait and see

I'll probably go with the Blue Ridge as it's the tallest one available from BRP. So far most who have it seem to like it. If it doesn't pan out for me I can always go to an aftermarket windshield next year when more choices will be available.

Did a 300+ mile back from Springfield to Memphis on the Blue Ridge windshield and compared with the Demo Ride without a windshield, this is the best windshield for me. Rode thru most normal environs (2 lane, 4 lane, passing semis, windy areas, full helmet and 3/4 helmet) and it does a great job!

(Note, I am 5'7" and the windshield covers me up to the bottom neck area)

The Route 66 screen for the F3 has been withdrawn from sale...HTH

Has anyone tried the route 129 windshield, I was considering that one and/or the gauge spoiler

My wife has it on her F3 but hasn't ridden it much since we got it. She did like it on the 10+ miles she did on in leaving the dealer. Weather has dropped as soon as I parked in the garage so haven't had a chance to try it but at least it has given me time to farkle up a bit.
The gauge spoiler will only cover the gap between the cluster and the front. Won't do much as a wind protector... well maybe from keeping debris from getting in there.

I have the Blueridge shield---it looks great but to avoid the wind I need to lean down forward approx 4". It's great for short rides but longer distance would benefit with a windshield 4" taller.

The combination of the Blue Ridge Windshield and a full face helmet provide pretty good wind protection for now, but I will look closely at any taller option that F4 offers to the market

That is what I have and you are correct, it is only protection for the bike. I get glorious full wind in the face while riding. I (almost) always wear a full face though so I don't mind.

Picked up my F3-S yesterday and they installed the BlueRidge on there. I am 5'11" and using a FullFace... and the ride
was very nice. I honestly did not notice much pressure on the upper body or helmet area. Lets-say I never felt like the
wind was pushing against me. (And the look, IMHO, is REALLY nice.... keeps the unit with a sporty look)

another option would be to use something like this:

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/mra-x-creen-add-on-variable-windscreen-spoiler-blade-clamp-on (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/mra-x-creen-add-on-variable-windscreen-spoiler-blade-clamp-on)

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/x-creen-tour-bolt-on-to-clamp-mount-conversion-kit

they make other versions to (and you could probably find this or something similar on a google search)
