Visit to Amicalola Falls today

Great ride today to Amicalola Falls State Park. The falls are as beautiful as ever although the Lodge is under construction. The restaurant is open but relocated. Why they would tear everything up just as the heavy tourist season is beginning is a puzzle. Great ride up through Dawsonville (Bill Elliott's hometown) then up highway 183 to the park. Back through Dahlonegha and down 129 (that part of the Dragon with the fire removed).

Hope you stopped at the Smith House in Dahlonegha to eat. If you didn't, ya sho nuff missed somethin.

I used to live near Dawsonville. Our land was right behind that of Bill Elliot's grandpa's place, across from their junk-yard!
