Glympse looks like an interesting tracking app. What does it use to send the updates every few seconds, a text message? If so, wouldn't someone with a limited text plan soon run out of text allotments?

It uses data.

It uses data.
Thanks. About how much for an hour's tracking? Just wondering how much tracking I could do w/ 500 mb per month. Obviously you have to be in cell reception to have active tracking passed onto Glympse, right? Can your Spot tracking be copied over to a Glympse page? Or would that be redundant with Spot? I have Spot but not the tracking option so have not searched out its capabilities.

I have SPOT GEN3 as well but this trip I have decided to use Glimpse. Not sure what I used today but as we will reach Lake George tomorrow and I'll put a tracker on it. I know there is information on their site about the data.

Glympse looks really cool! I looked it up and the data usage averages about 1mb per hour.

Thanks. After reading the above I went back to their site and finally found the info by putting 'data' in the help page search box. It irritates me when such vital information about an application is not listed as an item in the list of help topics or in the app description. I didn't think to use the search box earlier today.

Are you guys heading toward Binghampton?
Take 84 East across NYS, and pick up 87 going North... much shorter!
